Seider had three points in the jets game btw
Thank you Todd, you brought life to this team. Seider, Ray, Kaner, and Debrincat have played some of the best hockey in the NHL lately. Even Cat was checking HARD on Saturday. Seider is absolutely an elite defensemen at this point, and Simon is improving. Once ASP is part of this team, it’s going to be a good time. Go Wings.
Little side note, I liked what Todd said after the game “who cares how I feel, people come to watch the players, not the coach.” He’s just happy to give the boys their confidence back.
What’s crazier about Seider in the Jets game is that he didn’t have one assist as you guys said multiple times, he had 3.

I’ll be curious to see how this team handles the eventual regression, given how they crumbled under adversity with Lalonde. Todd’s had a shorter shelf life since leaving San Jose and there aren’t many more levers to pull, between the two coaching styles.
My only thing with the FA discussion, is I understand that you don't want to give massive term, but Stevie has given 3-5 year deals that have been terrible. If a player is top tier, than why say no to Chychrun when we have Holl, Chariot, Petry, and Gust making would it would take to get one guy you know is solid, just my opinion. I am sick of not going after big(ish) fish in the market
I’m very hopeful Detroit makes it. But realistically I don’t think the defense holds out this season. But they are so much better than they were this year under Lalonde.

Three way trade. Kasper, Kiiskinen to Calgary for Nazem Kadri who goes to Vancouver with Veleno. Pettersen back to Detroit. Who says no?
The biggest flaw of Lalonde's defense first style is the team spent most of the in the game in the defensive zone. This often results in taking more penalties particular with big slow physical defensemen. McLellan offensive style resulted in limiting Winnipeg to only 2 power plays was a big part of the victory.
Absolutely right about Mo, he was a beast, willed defensive stops. A real gem, elite.
I was also getting pretty heavy into the top 10 for the draft. So happy for the team that we don't have to endure another half a season of what December looked like.
