You can talk about the teams shortcomings and their playoff chances and stuff, and they definitely have their problems, but anyone outright saying the leafs are a bad team is just a hater who can't be objective

This Leafs team is playing proper hockey.
They are a good team right now but as we all know, that can change in a hurry in the playoffs. If the Core 4 show up and they continue to play excellent defense and strong goaltending, they can make a strong run. If they don't, there's no way this team will get past Bobrovsky or a healthy Vasilevskiy unless they win every game 1-0. Yes, defense is extremely important in the playoffs but you can't tell me the Panthers and Oilers would have gone as far without their best offensive players playing at a very high level, which is still a big question mark about the Leafs, especially now that Matthews has had significant injury issues lately.
My biggest concern would be the sustainability of the goaltending. Woll doesn't have a history of playing a full NHL season and I am slightly worried about injuries or a slip in his play . If Stolarz returns will he be at the same form as before.
Being outshot is indicative of being outplayed simple we’ve been outshot in about 13 of the last 15 games so I think it’s safe to say goaltending is winning us games cause we aren’t scoring as much but we are allowing just as much as last year the difference once again is goaltending I do see guys back tracking a bit harder but smarter is what we are missing and it’s clear that the players most of them are still stuck regarding how they wanna play or should play in the new system hopefully they flip the switch soon

Can't figure out hard nosed hockey …that's what wins u championships and that's what the leafs are doing …preparing for the playoffs and to win in them …I've want hed hockey for a long time now and I can tell you this type of hockey wins …as long as they get the goaltending they're currently getting the rest will unfold …

If he is healthy, don't worry about #34 playing in 4 nations. Every other NHL game he plays this season will be against teams that have players on the edge of losing their jobs that would look to take advantage of being able to injure a star. (Rempe anyone?) The 4 Nations will not have anyone like that playing. No one will be looking to do anyone dirty.

Goaltending and defence, Tanev, OEL are great, but in the playoffs a team with strong backchecking and strong in the boards will shut them down.
Lucky, "When preparation meets opportunity" that's Berube's job to instill that, and it's working.
