Tried to stay up and watch the game, but I just could not stay awake. Watched the recap just now, and OMFG, Markstrom absolutely won that game for NJD. Ace, love the channel, keep it up!
Marky looking like prime Marty. Geez. When was the last time the Devils actually had a game stolen by their goalie? Now…defense still needs to button up. Let's make this an actual turnaround!
The Devils beat the NY Rangers 5-1 at Madison Square Garden and they beat the NY Rangers 5-0 at home.

Another game to be concerned about. 6 games now playing mediocre hockey, in some cases terrible hockey. We need to get this cleaned up. I will say there were a few stretches of good hockey tonight, but not enough. We need the Rangers game to get us back on track.

Markstrom with two insane saves for the Devils in the third period. He has been great this year. The Devils defense needs to play better in front of Markstrom. Paul is starting to heat up with another goal.

Nice to see Cotter and Mercer scoring. Palat up to 9 goals on the Hughes line. Wonky defense is worrisome but itll come around. Markstrom average. So average.
Tried to stay up. Had to turn the game off at second intermission. Glad to wake up to a W! Markstrom looked unreal.
Marky put the team on his back and thankfully they got the win for him. It would have been criminal to lose after the effort he put in! Hopefully they take advantage of these next two days to straighten out some of these issues they've suddenly run into on both sides of the ice. Rangers are going to be tough so getting another win against them will help get them back on track.

Thinking more about it, our goal scorers last night were Cotter, Mercer, and Palat. That's EXACTLY what we needed. We also talk about secondary scoring etc., well that's what we got, and Marky played the game if his career. Ended our losing streak, and now onto the Rangers to keep the fire burning. Doomers be F*CKED. Devils are 5160 spring steel. Bend it like hell and it'll come right back with force.

For some reason, the Devils seem to suffer a post holiday drop-off in performance. It is not from complacency because the effort is there, but productivity isn't. This is extremely concerning because these ruts are often hard to get out of. Let's hope last night is ends this funk!
So glad they broke the losing streak but they still have a LOT of work to do. Crazy how a switch flipped over that break. Definitely need to be hitting more and locking down the defense. Happy to take the win and it is all owed to Marky. He's locked in thank goodness. LGD!!

they are attacking the puck carriers very aggressively at the blue line and when they miss they skate right by and cant get back quick enough , turns into a odd man rush, not sure why they arent just poke checking the puck away

I'm always glad to join you on your studio. Late last night right after work I went to Planet Fitness to exercise. And in the process I watched the highlights of our game in Seattle. In which Markstrom and our Devils won it.

Much needed win. A lot of devils fans at Climate Pledge Arena including myself. Side note, Seattle's arena is beautiful. Easily the most gorgeous hockey stadium I've been to.
Well Ace, we did it they ended a 4 game win streak with a beautiful but ugly win in Seattle. And was that Marky in net or was that prime time Marty i couldn't tell with 3 incredible saves. anyway lets hope this is only the first of many wins to come in 2025, but our biggest challenge is Thursday against the rangers because they are slowly turning things around. lets hope they can finally get out of this slump of not being able to cycle and play defense and start ranking up some points. LGD!!!!

First win of 2025! I feel like we should have scored a little more, but a win is a win…and Markstrom….omg….someone call the cops, because he committed absolute ROBBERY last night! I think he got 3 saves of the year in last nights game alone. and that save at the end with his stick while he was down, that was a save like Marty made.
