First time visiting the channel, and a Canucks fan, but I love the passion here. Obviously happy with the result personally, but it's still fun to see the enthusiasm that you put into your synopsis while making some topical Lion King comparisons haha. I think with the Canucks as battered both physically and mentally as they are, the Leafs did not look great in this game, but Toronto still put Lankinen to work and Petterson actually had a quiet stat night. That said, we over on the left coast always love to put our Leaf homers into a wagon and send them over a cliff so we don't have to listen to them anymore so this was nice overall. That's the tough part with the team. You see these really exceptional players and just… and during the regular season they shine and they always get you thinking… "Maybe, maybe it'll be different." because, at some point it has to be right? It has to be different? These men have aged almost a decade. Surely that experience means something? Surely it's prepared them for the hardships of the playoffs… and each time… it's just heartbreak. Even when they finally broke out the first round they managed to lose the second in such a spectacular fashion it invalidated their success. I don't know what it will take for them to "lock in" but it's clear that the experience isn't really making them better… can you imagine doing something for 8 years and simply just, not getting better at all? Staying exactly the same? How?
Has anyone noticed how often Matthew’s passes the puck to another player to carry the play? He rarely hangs on to it and try to go to the net or even skate out of our zone. Robertson does a better job of getting to the puck.
The team has a lot to work on. Especially the power play. I don’t even think other teams are worried about our power play.
The funny thing is Reeves is out for 2 games and they lose 2 games and the won the game he was in at Philly get Reeves back in and please trade the 7 million dollar liability in Morgan, Riley who is -14 on a first place team and he definitely can’t quarterback a power play. The guy is our new Brodie.
Pettersson delivered a Selke level performance, literally his teammates were shouting "SELKE SELKE SELKE" during the game on multiple shifts and this loud FK says "i noticed him a few times" lol what a tool.. a reasonable reason for him being unreasonable.

I havent beleaf'd in a long time. Knew as soon as the leafs management gave the kids monster contracts right out of ELC it wss always going to be a problem. They didnt deserve it & now they been rewarded for a bunch of first round exits 😂 i love this city & will always be a leaf fan. That being said i haven't bought a jersey or been to a game in over 5 years. They dont deserve my hard earned money.

Definitely disappointing, but the Canucks also shutout the Panthers a few weeks ago. These things will happen, even to a team with a guy like Tkachuk. Berube's approach gives reason for some modicum of expectation. Practice until the playoffs.
