My biggest issue with the power play is that the player don’t really seem to be on the same page about how to enter the zone. The purpose of Hughes running the puck up the ice and then dropping it to someone behind him is that the player behind enters the zone at full speed and can either carry the puck over the blue line or dump and chase and beat the defenders to the puck, however the way Hughes drops the puck most times is just behind him and not looking so the player that is supposed to have speed has to either break and turn too catch the puck or just restart the play altogether, I’m not saying it’s all on Hughes just that the players do not seem to have the same idea.
