We need a player like skinny that just produces with anyone that plays with him and a kaletta to give everyone to worry about.
I think sneaky Joe is really onto something. Players embraced that style and are now confused and upset. Young kids throw temper tantrums when they don't get their way. That's what they do. Could explain lack of mental toughness. I've coached teams in other sports and this is what it looks like when players want something else
Had the team from 2 years ago had the current version of UPL, Bo Byram, Zucker and I’d argue McLeod at 3rd Line Center, we would have made the playoffs!
And since we do have that now, and a significantly better 4th line, the Sabres need to go back to that style!

HIRING RUFF WAS ONE OF THE WORST DECISIONS , THIS INEPT GM HAS EVER MADE . THIS KIDS WERE BROUGHT UP IN USA HOCKEY OR OTHER NATIONAL PROGRAMS WITH THE EMPHASIS ON SPEED , SKILLS , PASSING . not the Stone Age style that RUFFS ONLY KNOWS ( dump the puck and fight to get it back) when you watch this young kids play , they look like they are tight as a drum . Let this kids play , let them use their skills and just get a couple of nonsense veteran players to help the young kids play with a sense of security.
The Sabres are hands down the most exciting team in the NHL. Intrigue and frustration are part of that. We need more Buddhas that can let the game unfold as it is. If all you want are greedy wins your dissapointment only grows. Go to games to see both teams play.
Call out the great plays of the other teams. See the humanity of all the players. Have some damn gratitude that you have a team. Stop your codependency surrounding a toy sliding along frozen water. Teach the kids that you bring about effort, teamwork and dealing with loss. Go Sabres!!!
In Rochester you're taught a structured system that translates to NHL roster yet Powers, Benson (junior) Weren't given that process of refining their game. If Zucker doesn't want to remain & the league knows then a mid round choice is the best you can do. Its apparent that Seth Appert is being groomed for next coach because Lindy wasn't given his choice of assembling staff. Waiting for GM to make a significant roster move, Good Luck!

I disagree. Granato is the cause for why we are like this today. He taught these boys zero positioning, zero def3nse, and zero toughness. Sure they were a high flying fun team to watch a couple years ago, but the entire time, they were soft and constantly getting bullied on the ice.
Why can’t we tell the top two lines to play lights out, bottom 6 play tight, top D pairing play to score and the other 4 play for defense

There are so many reasons to explain why this team is bad this year. A lot of them are valid but I keep coming back to just 2 of them:
1.) UPL (all of the goaltenders) are performing below average. If they were making 'gotta have that one' saves as much as last year, the standings would look a lot better.
2.) Cozens is a bust, and that creates an entire hole where an effective 2nd line should be. Cozens is bad, he's the only forward with more than 2 goals on this team shooting under 10%, he drags the powerplay down when he is out there, and is quite frankly the worst forward on the team without the puck. He needs to be removed and replaced, by almost anybody right now.
If nothing else but those 2 things changed for the better, this would be a team fighting for, if not in, a playoff spot.
