maybe its because i'm a bruins fan and our powerplay is an atrocity, but your powerplay looks fine to me?
The answer is soooo simple … No slow motion during the power play. By doing this it gives the opposition time to do their defensive system. Just look at the difference when the Leafs are 5 on 5 vs their useless power play. Time to fire the power play coach too.
Because of their PK is so good one of the main reasons they are on top of Atlantic I guess

I've said the Ovi-thing 100000000 times about our powerplay, we have Willy or Matthews with super dangerous shots, maybe not Ovi dangerous, but it's still effective. And it keeps them from overthinking this goddamn thing too much

Caps powerplay worked like that for years, but that hasn't worked for the caps in a while. They had some of the same issues (zone entry, inability to keep it in the zone once there, etc) and I think the single most effective zone entry strat for a few years there was literally "let Kuznetsov carry it in."
This team will crash and burn AGAIN in the first round because they can't score on the PP. Same as it ever was.
Powerplay 1 should be : LW, Knies, C, Domi, RW, Nylander, LD, Matthews, RD, OEL. Poweplay 2 should be : LW, McMann, C, Tavares, RW, Robertson, LD, Rilley, RD, Marner. Use both line ups to maximize their potential.
