Oh sure , now that Jarrys gone , this brilliantly built roster MAY never lose again !! So exciting . Sids 4th cup on the way !!
I remember commenting on a video about a year ago, saying until Jarry goes nothing will change. Hopefully this is the beginning of that change. Bad vibes are contagious and when no one can say the truth to their teammate to his face it’s a bad locker room. Not saying Jarry has bad vibes, just that when people are too shy to say how they feel it’s a self censorship that kills vibe
I find Dubas to be an easy guy to respect. Hockey social media is pretty toxic, though, and seems to mostly disagree.
I know Jarry is gone to the AHL but that is no excuse for Dumbas! He’s a terrible GM and he is tanking this team !
The first Jersey that I bought as a young pens fan was a Jarry jersey. Had to pay my dues for the guy. Loved him, and also hated him.
Wait till they still lose with Bloomqvist
Ned's stats are almost the same as Jarry's. This doesn't change anything. Malkin and Karlson need to sit. Watching them make half-ass defensive plays in so aggravating!! I still watch and hope for the best😢
The style of play in the nhl at this time of the year usually transitions into more of a tighter, physically defensive playoff style of hockey. And this isnt the style of play the Pens are comfortable at playing nor are they wired at doing it,but if they want to be successful now or in the future they need to consistently embrace that philosophy
Good morning, DK, and WOW, what a day!! Ok, 2 things come to mind when I heard the news last night, here in Langley City, BC Canada 🇨🇦 1. Yesterday's show, and it comes to fruition today!!! 2. Everyone LOVES to go after what a horrific job Dubas is doing, Ppppffft how ridiculous Pens nation, shame on you. Did Jarry work out, NO. AT THE TIME OF SIGNING, please tell me what options we had, other than a goalie who had made the all-star game TWICE in 7 years? Come on guys, you're all GM'S, waiting……and who could actually predict THIS horrific nose dive THIS low? Not one of you. Graves, he was an improving defensemen with upside he signed long term in hopes of being a really solid D man worth 6,7, or 8 million by the last few years at a bargain of 4.5 million. That didn't happen, I get it. He did replenish our draft system, and he stocked our minors. He also stocked our minors, particularly with strong goalies who were pushing this whole thing we're seeing, correct? If it wasn't for Larrson, Bloomqvist, and I love to throw in Murashov, who needs to be in Wilkes now, none of this is happening. Dubas has made mistakes, and more importantly, he's standing there willing to take it from anyone, bravo Kyle 👏 🙌🏻 People, that's called character. Accountability. And in an industry, like so many, where the "big wigs" hide behind bs excuses, press releases, etc Dubas DID NOT. Like always, I'm trusting in Dubas! Thanks DK. Blessings, Victor 🙏 ❤️✝️
They will be a better team with Blomqvist. I've commented on this since last year
"I own that"..Mike Tomlim must have gave Dubas that line to use..
This guys track record in Pittsburgh has mirrored what he did in Toronto…..go review every one of his trades, signings and maybe you can pick at one that actually worked out or was good.
Jarry (too much money, people in the industry knew he wasn't worth that)
Graves (too much money and term, no other team offered that to him, and as good as his underlying stats were, two teams were willing to give up on him for a reason)
Nieto and Hinostroza, Acciari, Jenkins and Eller signings when all that money could have gone to a nyqvist, Glendening (guys I was hoping they would sign) and money left over who produced 30 more goals on their own compared to other 4 and Glendening last year anyways much better on PK and defensive zone.
Gryz (nothing needed to say here)
Hayes (I hope I don't need to say anything here, he is a perimeter player on a team that doesn't need any)
Karlsson (I never liked this move and many in the industry didn't think this is what the Pens needed, they took on salary and the first round pick they gave up is a stud and is expected to be top pairing D)
Guentzel trade (6 first rounders traded away for players of lesser quality last year, he didn't get a 1st rounder, 3 prospects who were not even in their top 8 of prospects)
I can go on, but so far I haven't seen a home run let alone a double. I saw an article that we have a bright future in the minors, we have a lot of mid level players, no top end talent.
I feel sadly vindicated because when I was critiquing them giving Dubas a 7 year lucrative contract with full control…I got some negative comments
You know what my dad told me about mistakes “don’t make em”
Its a start. The difference between this team and the other two Black and Gold teams is that the Pens seems to actually CARE enough to fix the issues. They still won't go anywhere this season but now we can all stop blaming Jarry. No one will claim him, might as well get him in a minor league trade or something
So when Blomqvist gets torched what's next? As long as they're giving up the odd man breaks / high quality scoring chances the way they do no goalie is going to save this team. Hopefully I'm wrong. Also on the J1Q, they're 2-5-3 in their last 10, that is still very much in a nose dive.
Put George Pickens in goal
Thank you DK, Dubas owned it and took a big step forward. It shows awareness and transparency. I respect that DK. A mistake is not a mistake, unless you fail to correct the mistake, then it's a mistake. Great show DK Safe travel
DK loves it when coaches are fired and players are cut.
I like that he's owning up to his mistakes, but woof. Replace Jarry, Graves and Gryzelcyk with players worth their cap hits and this team is solidly in a playoff spot. All those are Dubas moves.
You're like the Glenn Beck of Sports lol.
how about the pens get a general manager who has won a cup and knows what that takes to achieve
Safe travels!
He's trying to make due with the mess that what he was dealt with I can respect Dubs for that
Have a lot of respect for how Dubas carries himself and his openness with media and fans.
Yeah, Dubas is taking all the blame for Jarry, but I bet Sullivan had a lot to do with convincing Dubas to resign him.
Good move, but dang this is a rough one if you are a GM talking to ownership. Thats why i was saying before that Dubas really was hoping some team would grab Jarry's contract. Basically now we're in a situation that the ownership has to pay millions for Jarry to be in the AHL, and then probably this summer you have to buy out his contract, and pay Jarry 3+ million a year for multiple years, it doesnt go against cap but still…ownership is getting the bill. Anyway, happy for Blomqvist, he deserves to be getting his chances in the NHL instead of stuck in the AHL through no fault of his own.
