No Power Play goals = No offence from the Wings. Told you they were Power Play merchants. It bailed them out in Florida (along with Talbot) It bailed them out in the winning streak. Because 5 on 5 we are terrible. Oettinger wasn't even tested tonight. The lack of depth on this team is embarrassing. The defense was awful for all 4 goals. Not Todd's fault obviously…this roster is 70% garbage. The fact Seider is playing with Ben Sh*terot is criminal at this point. Only good thing was Johansson getting 20 minutes and looking solid. But we out shot them right? That means we won.
No love! Y’all need to let Cossa start playing in the net. You need to get better at the 5 on 5 offense, and smarten up on the defense. And stop letting them score on your net too! You’re letting them take a dump on you, literally!
Todd McLellan is an honorless coward for what he did tonight. No two ways about it. Kane carried this team night after night during the hot streak. He has one horrible sequence and McLellan demotes him to 4th line. Nobody else is ever held accountable for anything w playing time or linemates or any of that. But he randomly picks on the guy who's been carrying the team, embarrasses him and scapegoats him for one bad sequence.
Marco Kasper did nothing to earn being on the first line. And he ruined or helped ruin last game w his moronic penalty immediately to start the 2nd. He was not demoted off the top line after that. DeBrincat has had a nightmare 2 games, blowing multiple chances from Kane in the 1st vs Tampa, getting embarrassed w a no effort defensive play vs Kucherov, and tonight having a horrible turnover lead directly to the first goal. DeBrincat despite all this was not demoted as punishment or to 'spark the team'. No, just Kane tonight.
If you remove Kane, this team has literally about 0 wins since McLellan took over the team. You'd think this combined w his status in the league and in the locker room would garner him some measure of respect, but apparently for whatever reason he is singled out for disrespect. For some reason he is held to a higher standard, with greater more immediate consequences for mistakes or poor effort, than anyone else on the team.
I don't think Pat will do so but I very much hope he is open to a trade coming up here. He deserves to play in the playoffs and be out of this mess.
Remember when Todd McLellan at Columbus did a terrible challenge on a CBJ goal w 2 minutes left, giving them a power play w all momentum in a tie game? Remember when Todd McLellan ended a 7 game winning streak and ruined his team's positive momentum by starting Ville Husso, and by pulling his red hot power play off the ice less than halfway thru a shift down 1-0, followed by the 2nd unit giving up a shortie?
Way worse mistakes than Kane's tonight. Maybe Todd should have demoted himself to assistant coach after those errors.
Compher isn't worth a bag of chips. Neither is Copp, Chariot, or Rasmussen. Between these 4 guys alone, Yzerman is spending nearly 20 million dollars a year for the next 3-4 years. Let that sink in.
Funny coming here after a loss to watch all of the armchair GMs lose their minds. People really think they have the answer to everything when they really don’t.
Quit blaming the coaching staff. The roster isn't playing like they are supposed to. There is no fire in them to win like the opposing team. If they want to make the playoffs, they have gotta possess the puck most of the time and keep the opponent away from the front of our net. We've gotta get in front of their net more and jam the puck in. This roster seems to be more concerned about personal stats once again, going back to their losing ways. We need to eliminate or waive at least Rasmussen and Copp and possibly Compher. Fischer plays with heart but we just don't have anybody who can gell with him. It's the same players usually, day in and day out, who are messing up, and usually the same players that are playing well during a game, but there is once again no fire in this roster to want to win badly enough. Todd McClellan and his assistant are not the problem here. Some of this roster are way over paid and can't perform on a daily basis because they're either not worried about where the team is going or not worried about their contracts knowing they'll have to get paid regardless of what happens. Either they don't have those instinctive skills to protect the net on breakaways or just don't want to work hard enough to cover an open opposing player. The opposing team has easily scored on the Wings in the recent losses. I think it's time to start bringing up the youth and put some of these other players on the roster on waivers since they're not playing to win. Some of these players are barely showing up. Husso should have been gone a long time ago. Rasmussen is not even a factor on the ice and should probably be placed on waivers. With some of the bad apples who do not want to perform every time on the ice should be benched, sent to the minors, or waived immediately. Effort means a lot when these players are pushing on all cylinders. A lot of time during the game, they are not. Again, do not blame McLellan or his assistant. This lethargic nonsensical playing was going to happen after the honeymoon was over. Thing is, those who've decided to keep to this style of playing on the ice should be pulled to the side and dealt with, to either get with the program or get out altogether.
dropping Kane to 4th line to 'send a message' was absolute garbage and i hope he loses the room over it, or at least loses Kane over it. the disrespect, the lack of gratitude for a dude who's been amazing for you, and the extremely unfair double standard are all a bit much. every time another guy has a horrible turnover/lazy defense now, there will be the question of why isn't he being demoted or benched? and there will be no good answer. this coach was handed immaculate vibes and he's now completely finished burning thru them.

45 games an 6 goals, dude this guyy is trash.

Kaner pkayed good. This loss will show wings they gotta be better. Velano and Teresenko have to step up. Razr lookin very good. LGRW
Yzerman has made the choice to sell; we played well for 8 games to display our talent to other teams. This season is a wrap.

Thank God Aziz isn't here.

Compher is the worst forward signing since Abdelkaders big extension. What a completely useless loser.

Larkin is not captain material at all
