Unless Elias Lindholm plays at least like a top-tier 2C and Zadorov as a physical top-4 D, those contracts will limit what the Bruins can do.
BTW I think that Fluto is one of the best hockey writers out there
Mason Lohrei has been struggling mightily this year. Hope he can turn things around soon.
A rebuilding team with a goalie that they opened the vault for. Ouch.
Is MacaVoy a foundational player? He has been average at best the last 2 seasons.
Brad thinks he’s the man but he’s a short man
Start with finding a GM who knows how to draft.
Hard to understand that people continue to include McAvoy as a pillar. He hasn't performed to expectations in years.
Unfortunately filling the center hole is probably not a July 1st thing. Very rarely do top centers hit free agency, usually there’s some red flags if they’ve made it that far (like Lindholm). Even more unfortunately, because we’re still under this regime… the draft is the best chance at finding that future cornerstone piece. With Sweeney at the helm there’s no hope they can do that. So you over pay in free agency for middling players and you end up where they are.
as we know teams that think they have a legitimate chance for a deep run will over pay at the deadline. there could be teams out there i could see giving the bruins a very good prospect and a number one pick for marchand. i really think at the break for the four nations that they should really gauging the trade market for some pieces that can be moved. is carlo struggling because he has not had lindholm for the last three months? at some point they need to bring out a few players from providence for an extend stay, and see what you have.
