At least that what he’s said after his career. I thought he just didn’t want to play in a small market but whatever. I think that owner was a douchebag and the Lindros trade basically built the Avalanche into a cup winning team.

Leafs comment was dumb since it wasn't an actual situation of "a player hating the team" Patrick Roy hated Mario Tremblay who constantly mocked Roy for having mediocre English and French Canadian accent, there was a lot of bad blood between them before Roy left the Habs. Eric Lindros's agent/father convinced Lindros to not join the team since he was believed to be the same level as Gretzky and Mario Lemieux having him sit out his stint with the Nordiques until his trade to the Flyers, other incidents did occur but thats not why he didnt play for the Nordiques, who then labled him in the media as anti-French Canadian.
