  1. Miller going to Colorado. Pettersson going to Buffalo. Boeser going to Wild. Demko going to Carolina.

  2. CAR should grab Puljujarvi. He needs 1 last chance before heading to Finland. Why not put him in a room with guys he's succeeded with before? They prob wouldn't have to pay much, if anything at all!

  3. Wowsa that was the biggest splash in some time! Probably opened the trade floodgates!

  4. This will be MacFarlands legacy and will be the reason why nothing more could be accomplished during Nate & Cale's prime.

  5. He's not allowed to make more than McKinnon at $12.6AAV. hahahahaahahaha. The McKinnon artificial cap sticklers.
    WOW. 14 – 12.6 = 1.4
Whoooooooooa there Gretzky of saving money. Seriously 1.4 million dollars in savings and the Avs didn't get a top prospect.
P.S. Malkin made more money than Sidney Crosby who didn't have a $8.7 cap limit set for Geno.

  6. As a canes fan, hearing that a “first ballot Hall of Famer” has been traded to the canes is surreal. We aren’t usually involved in these blockbusters. Holy hell.

  7. Canes didn't make it past New York because Igor was a brick fucking wall. Everyone wants to blame goaltending but I think being able to get a few pucks past the goalie when they wouldn't have otherwise…

Is what will get Carolina to the conference finals or the Stanley Cup Final. Jersey has faltered some. The Maple Leafs are the Leafs. Caps look good but I think the Hurricanes are the #1 contender in the East.

  8. JT Miller to AVs. Can you imagine how much yelling there would be in that locker room when they lose a game lol

  9. Drew Doughty – GM Rob (themanagaementknob) is probably #%@*&$%# enough to trade DD who has zero trade protection in last 4yrs of 8yr deal. 2 seasons left after this season on contract I think.

  10. Wow, this is a massive trade. Carolina wins because they get the best player in Mikko Rantanen. He may not be well known in the Eastern conference but he is an elite talent. Canes are favorites to come out of the East.

  11. How is this not the best deal EVER for the Avs? They potentially got 4 players for 1, including a budding superstar in Necas ! And freed up 3mil in cap space…GO AVS !

  12. Ever make you wonder what the 'Insiders' actually bring to the table. Can't remember any of them ever breaking a trade until after it happens

  13. For Carolina this sets up a Miller acquisition to be their second line center. JK goes the other way plus a handful of picks and prospects. This is what Allvin is haggling over with the Canes GM as we speak. Stay tuned, it's gonna be a bumpy ride Canucks fans!

  14. Avs just got absolutely shat on. Holy fuck this was a shitty trade. Avs are simply done. Cup window over.

  15. As a 'Canes fan, I see this as a win for BOTH teams, but maybe SLIGHTLY more so for Colorado. Yes, Carolina did receive Rantanen, but he will be a free agent after the season. Like Colorado, Carolina doesn't have much cap space. In fact, they had to defer some of Seth Jarvis' money until after his contract ends just to get him signed before this season began. So, Carolina will have to get creative if they want to re-sign Rantanen during the coming offseason, and not be just a rental. On the other hand, Colorado is receiving a solid, if streaky, player in Martin Necas and a rising player in Jack Drury. If…IF…Carolina resigns Rantanen in the coming offseason, then I see the trade as a MAJOR WIN for Carolina. Giving up two very good players for one elite player…then have him walk in the offseason is not a good deal to me…unless the Hurricanes win it ALL this year. So, it all comes down to how far the 'Canes go in the playoffs this season.

  16. Mikko rantanin is either gonna be a hall of famer or a player that was know to get points that McKinnon gave him… there’s a real chance that he doesn’t do well on his own

  17. Rantanan isn't on the same level as Draisaitl is, but he is close to it. Draisaitl is this season the best player in the league, MacKinnon, McDavid and Draisaitl are on top of the league. With Rantanan Carolina got what extremely difficult is to find, they got a player which can make the difference. For the canes it's a must to have such a player.
