Gonna hate not seeing Mikko on the team again. One hell of a first line, Mac, Moose, JD, Makar, Tazer, and of course holy Mackenzie.

Rantanen about to be the best player on the Canes instead of the 3rd best player on the Avs. Excited for him to step up, he was always killer when Mack was out of the lineup, this is a huge opportunity for him to show everyone what kind of superstar he is stepping out of the shadow of Mack n Mak and hopefully leading Canes to the SCF. I'm so sad to see him go, one of my all-time favorite Avs, he's such a unique player. Huge body, great hands, great shot, but an even better playmaker.
As an Avs fan, hopefully Necas is a great fit with MacKinnon on those fast wheels of his. I'm honestly shocked the Avs let Rants go, his chemistry with MacKinnon was next level.

Rantanen obviously was too expensive for the Avs to re-sign, and obviously he has a lot higher value trading right now than in the off-season. But I am kinda surprised they didn't ride out the year with him, since with their goaltending situation drastically improved I think they are legit cup contenders
Still pretty surreal that we traded Mikko. Going to miss him. Wish him the best. Excited to see what Necas brings with his speed and skill.

Necas was having his best season in Carolina and they swept him like that. Necas is a technical player and needs to have like-minded players around him. He'll have a tough time in Colorado. Hopefully this doesn't ruin his career. 🙁

People sleeping on Necas are absolutely crazy. Necas is 8 points short of Rantanen with less ice time and he did not play with MacKinnon and Makar. Let him fill Rantanen's shoes and he's going to pop off. On the other hand let's watch Rantanen do the same with Canes… I doubt he's going to keep the pace in there.

Necas is scary fast and smooth. I'm not so sure I would be giving up on the season that quick for the Avs. They also gain some salary cap space to make another trade now.

Necas and Mac is going to be filthy
Rantanen is a beast and phenom but the problem is he tends to get lazy and disappears often. If he was consistent, he'd be on the same level as Draisaitl. I never knew Rantanen was actually a loud mouth and always thought he was a cool and calm guy like most Finnish players are….or maybe that's Swedes.
Necas on the other hand looks like a poor mans Jagr. He has the high flying ability and agility to razzle and dazzle even like Mogilny…..but maybe he ends up more like Elias or even less like a Hertl. Rantanen is the better player overall but man he will frustrate you because he seems to be wasting such talent and size he has but doesn't show up many nights.
