   I'm an Avs fan so obviously I was both shocked but not surprised by this move. I hate seeing Mikko go but with the alleged contract stalemate I would rather them get something out of him as opposed to him walking away for nothing. I prefer to keep Mikko forever but with the contract he is looking to get, I would rather not be in a Toronto situation. Marty Nachos, my nickname for him that I will try to get to stick, is a guy I have really enjoyed watching this season. What do you think about the Avs trying him out at 2c?

   This is tough to take as an avs fan. But it’s a solid return if he was going to walk, because he does deserve 14+ with the cap going up. And that would have ruined the depth more than it is right now.

   The Avalanche will be going after Brock Nelson or JG Pageau to bolster their C spot. The only issue is salary because the Isles can’t retain much cap with their roster.

   a 3rd round pick to facilitate the trade? I'm not sure that Chicago doesn't deserve more, considering Hall did score points this season and Chicago is eating a mound of monies for the 3rd, maybe Carolina's farm team is located in Chicago??

    Necas is good but SUPER inconsistent…He started out so hot and has been so cold. Again I like him but see him as a 2nd liner because well he just is. I understand Colorado didn't want to lose Rantanen for nothing but I still think Colorado lost a LOT of value in this trade. Carolina pulled off robbery, I understand he's a upcoming UFA but they got a top 10 player for a 2nd line centre/winger…R o b b e r y.

    Im an avs fan im glad rantanen is gone him at 14mil just screws the team over even mackinnons contract screws the team. We need better players and with high contracts like that on the team and makar needs a deal. Colorado doesnt have the space and they cant keep being a 3 player team. The rest of the players on the avs are just fill ins. This deal needed to happen.
