NEEDLE POINTING TOWARDS THE RE-SIGN 29, 21 TRADE THE FIRST SIDE. Four game winning streak may tempt louzer to do something stupid like trade 29, first for j t. Fkn winning streak. Meanwhile canes make a real deal and get a top scorer in 50 g 100 pt. rantanen as av's get necas. Two teams trading some high end offensive talent, the kind isles only wish they had. And 29 drops to two on trade list behind j t with 21 ten. And speaking of 50 g 100 pt. scorers check out tony d. wearing the 77 of sneaky pete, the last isle 50 g 100 pt. scorer-32 years ago. No louzer gm'd team has ever had a player score 50g 100 pt while playing for louzer-elias, mogilny, kovi-no one. nj including kc scout/rockies days has never had one.

  2. Even Rod Brind'Amour, who coached DeAngelo couldn't believe nobody signed him yet. With Dobson going down, a 32nd place PP, and now Pulock going down, this signing makes sense. Roy liked his play and knows he can log some big minutes. He's making the league minimum on a prorated contract, so money isn't an issue. If he becomes a distraction in the locker room to the point he hurts the team, the Islanders can simply release him. With or without him, with or without the 4 game winning streak, the Islanders are still not a playoff team, but to stay somewhat competitive, the DeAngelo signing was the right move by Lou. At the trade deadline, he may actually give us another asset to trade if he plays well.

  3. From what people in NHL office tell me Deangelo is quite popular with the players around the hate. The hate comes from Journalist and Media and Fans. He is player who is politically incorrect who is proud of that and likes going on social media to boast that he is politically incorrect. Majority of canadian and american players share his views.

His real problem is that he is the type of personality who likes to say things to provoke people

His issues with the Rangers was because they didnt want him going on social media to say

    I support Trump
    Covid was a lab leak
    Against vaccine mandate
    Against mask mandates
    Against school closures

He is a talented player who provides offense from the blue line which has been a problem this year

Islanders have a need and he fills that need

Islanders need him to play well in order to win games because if we are winning games that means our veteran players are playing better and we will be able to maximize our returns

  4. At least we have a guy when a Rookie gets elbowed, D’Angelo is the guy to pound someone out, Great game they never took there foot off the gas, LGI!!! Thanks Gil !!!

  5. The problem with DeAngelo: If you tell him, "Bro, one slip up and you are out of here"…one second later he is out of there. The guy was raised by a Neanderthal (his father) and he has no ability nor desire to change himself for the better. He belongs in the KHL. Sad, but true.

  6. If Lou doesn't trade Brock after Brock has said he wants to test the market (unlike Tavares saying he was going to stay) that constitutes a dereliction of duty.

  7. Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders won both games against the Flyers and the Hurricanes. As usual, there were tensions between those 2, just not as much; however, the Hurricanes have worked their last nerve for a few seasons, and this time, they came back in OT to do it. Give credit to Mark Gatcomb. He's young and has some hits. Casey Czisikus has gotten a little better. They've won 4 straight, but still have some work to do. Maxim Tsyplakov sat out Saturdays game even though his suspension was over. Maybe Patrick Roy did it to teach him a lesson, who knows. The injury jinx has hit the Islanders again. Ryan Pollack, upper body injury 15 seconds in the game, and he wasn't happy. We won't know how long he'll be out because Lou Lamoriello's keeping his mouth shut when it comes to injuries. I think it will make him think twice about trading Brock Nelson. Marcus Hochberg hurt himself Saturday 🌙, too so he's iffy, too. The Islanders signed Tony D'Angelo for rest of the season. A one time member of the dreaded Rangers. He has the talent, BUT HE NEEDS TO GET ALONG WITH HIS TEAMMATES. IF HE STARTS TROUBLE WITH THE, ISLANDERS, BETTER BE SMART AND ✂️ HIM OFF AT THE QUICK. HAPPY 🎂, MARK LAWRENCE. He scored a goal and an assist in a 5-3 win against the Panthers. Hear from you later, Gil. I'm 👀 Game 3 of the Finals. As you know, the Islanders were making their Stanley Cup Finals debut at the Coliseum, and they 🚬 the Flyers with a shorty and 5 PP goals in a 6-2 win. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  8. Gm Gil. The Isles were not the better team in the Canes game but as i've said many times, minimizing mistakes and taking advantage of opportunities can lead to victory. And so, it was.

  9. Good morning team! Gil, I have to admit, I'm torn. I love it when the Islanders win, but I can't help think how wins hurts us in the long run. Our glorious GM will probably not sell at the deadline, as he should. We all know he should to try to make this team younger, and faster. Having said that, I enjoy the wins, especially coming back in both games, after giving up the first goal, and two to the Canes. Also, about Tony DeAngelo, how could I not like a guy with such a great name lol. Now we have Colorado coming and the Flyers on the horizon again. I look forward to every game and each episode of the podcast. Of course, wishing the best for Pulock and not being out of the lineup for too long. Everyone, have a great day! See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  10. Spot on Gil. I am always happy when the Islanders win but I am concerned as well about the future, Lou and the retool. Too bad about Hogberg, he was playing so well for us. Hope he is back soon. LGI.

  11. DeAngelo has generally been a solid productive presence on the back end. Mostly his own challenge being unpleasant in locker room. Hopefully he has moved beyond that because he really is a contributor on ice.

  12. This team is so maddening. Where was this drive in the 1st half of season?? It's like clockwork, "the trade deadline is approaching, we better start playing so we can stay together". What a joke
