  1. I feel for the boys that are showing up n putting the work in. Our captain deserves better, putting in elite level play. Toxicity in the locker room is definitely a poison. I'm waiting for a change. This is a tough trade market already

  2. Rutherford is literary burying this franchises reputation. Consequences will include players losing trade value and interest to play here. Also basically threatening to lose Hughes who is the most important player on this team. This is a fireable offense. But Aquilini is a lost cause so nothing will happen.

  3. Nobody has mentioned politics, but lots of US-born players on the team and quite a divisive president was elected just prior to JT's leave…

  4. There's no rift between Miller and Petterson but there is a rift between players and coaches i believe. Obviously the organization wouldn't want that getting out so it's easy to stick with the garbage out there now. One will be traded though because they see a decline with Miller and they regret their Petterson contract

  5. Basically they should blow it up and rebuild before they lose all the value they have, go for Mckenna and build around team culture. This is a shitshow. You can get a shitload of 1st rounders for Mille, Pettey and even more for Hughes.

  6. First, I'm sure all 31 other teams already knew this, so it isn't like Rutherford nuked any leverage Vancouver had. The reality is they never had any. It's just fully out in the public now. That's actually smart PR because it will lessen the fallout when a player or players are moved. We'll all already know why.

Secondly, I think Vancouver's best option at this point is to work Buffalo for a Cozens / Pettersson swap. Both players peaked during the 22-23 season and have regressed since, while having long term big money contracts. Maybe one or both can benefit from a change of scenery.

  7. You guys should switch to supporting Oilers. It's shouldn't be too hard since most vancouver fans are band wagoners!

  8. I can only speak for myself but I'm getting tired of all of this controversy with Vancouver and the players. Time to completely overhaul management or strip the team and sell it for parts. Let the stars go on their way and have more productive and healthy careers elsewhere.

  9. i don't care how good you are if you put yourself ahead of the team you aren't worth keeping around. pettersson gets $142,000 per game. for 21- 23 minutes work. miller $100,000. for 15-17 minutes work. i hope they both get moved.

  10. How anyone could say this is on Canucks management for signing deals with players who had issues with each other is shocking. These players make $M's…there should be one expectation – Miller and Petey need to get their collective sh!t together and act like professionals. The most satisfying thing I could see right now is if both Miller and Petey weren't invited to practices, had to come to every game dressed, but don't play a single minute of hockey until their contracts expire. Let them rot and waste. Unfortunately, that's not economically feasible so I'm happy to say goodbye to both of these spoiled millionaires. Go away please so we can work toward getting our team back.

  11. Cody's comment was bang on and stated exactly what I was thinking.

  12. What a great way to celebrate the victory… Just tank the value of the forwards more, and make others less likely to want to come here.

  13. Everyone is overthinking it 😂 chill out and let them play. Watch them turn it around.. there’s still time

  14. While I like millers heart for the game I agree with hockeyrules1 from the video miller has gotta stop trying to be the boss he ain’t the captain let Hughes talk to petey he will probably know the right things to say

  15. Vancouver probably isn’t making the playoff this year, the pacific and central are locked up. Calgary is looking more dangerous as each game goes on. If I were a Canucks fan I’d be hoping for a rebuild

  16. I don't understand how they cant deal with each other. There have always been people when i played hockey that i couldn't stand but u deal with it. They score a goal and I'm like no we don't want that you guys can keep it. id rather lose a game than see them score, but I dealt with them for the better meant of the team and to win.

  17. You heard me over and over lamenting this: JT Miller is the issue and by Thor he should be paying for this debacle. Tocchet as well for allowing it to go on. You have to remember Miller’s past, his lower point production vs EP40, the comments that has confirmed his behavior against EP40 (of all people to pick), and also that he is passively quitting the team. I swear, if I was on this team I would dominate and bully Miller so bad he would beg for mercy and to be let go. He is only an elite second liner for Thor’s sake. With a big/dumb redneck mouth! And then he was basically KO’d in yesterday’s game…. 2 vs 7 shots by EP. 🤷🏻🫵

  18. How is it a nuke on the Vancouver fanbase again?
Management brought it on themselves, yes. An 11.6 million dollar mistake is hard to fix. But no GM in the league has more information now that Rutherford spoke than they did yesterday.

  19. Whaaaat in the fuchhhhhhhhhhhhhh is Rutherford thinking, the president going on record saying this is absolutely unacceptable!!

  20. I know it's hard to blame both of them equally, that "it takes two to fight" fallacy and all that, but the truth is it takes ONE party to fight, just ONE. If a guy starts yelling at you and hitting you, for example, you at some point HAVE to hit back to DEFEND yourself. Not saying Pettersson is completely innocent or that Miller is completely innocent, just bringing up a possibility that this beef's origins and continuation COULD be one sided. Miller's got a reputation for being an abrasive, angry guy. So if this is a once sided beef, and I were to place odds, based on what we know so far, I'd put my odds on it being Miller who's the main source of this beef, and if we move Pettersson and keep the older guy who's more the trigger, does that really solve the problem, or does that just lead to Angry JT just picking a different target for his ire? Does he settle down, or just start feuding with Tocchett or Quinn or someone else? Maybe Brock?

If we trade Miller, even assuming we can't get anywhere near his market value, what are the odds Pettersson starts a feud with a new target? Very small, I'd say. He's also younger, more talented, and has proven he's dedicated to the team and willing to play through intense pain, even to the detriment of his offensive production, to help the team win however he can. JT's not even hurt, he's just unhappy, and he can't play through the emotional damage and is constantly being a liability. Pettersson's play is suffering too, sure, but who wouldn't if they're being bullied nonstop? That'll have a negative effect on anyone. No doubt if Conner McDavid were being bullied nonstop we'd see him tank to a less then a point per game player, even knowing he's capable of being nearly a 2 point a game player uninhibited.

Just some thoughts to put things into perspective here.

  21. Nothing gloves and helmet in the locker room can’t solve
Get the team to bet on it and get that whiny goof miller some more cash so he can “ stop crying bro” lol
Ps I’ll glove and helmet that goof

  22. JR should be fired
He seen this problem and did nothing to trade one of them
He actually gave new contracts out ..Crazytown

  23. If/when one of them gets traded… I want to see petey put on 10 pounds of muscle and watch them square off.

  24. I would try to trade Petey to the Islanders for Matt Barzal who is from Coquitlam. They make about the same amount of money and Petey gpt along well with Horvat.
