  1. Hughes deserves MVP trophy, he Absolutey carries the play anytime he’s on the ice. Rarely does he slip up.

But Sportsnet only knows mcdavid and Matthew’s so Hughes is shrugged off

  2. They are ANKLE breaking the NHL 😎

These modern players skating made me watch hockey again, so fun to watch

  3. Makar is maybe the best solo player, but hockey is a team sport, and Hughes creates and drives team plays better than anybody.

  4. Werenski carrying the Blue Jackets is by far the biggest surprise of the season.

  5. Quinn Hughes is a magician that is nearly flawless in his decision making. I truly believe he puts up 100 assists playing with Mackinnon.

  6. could u pls make a video about Seider ? I think he is one of the best and most underrated Defensive D-Men with a high offensive ceilling. Would be very interesting to hear ur thoughts.
    great video !

  7. IF the Canucks don't quit screwing around teams will be falling over themselves to get their hands on a puck moving game changing D-man named Quinn Hughes.

  8. Hughes and Makar are both fantastic in slightly different ways. The big stat that every Hughes proponent ignores is that he isn't trusted on the PK. Makar plays 4x the PK time as Hughes and if Hughes played the same amount of 5v5 and PK time as Makar, Hughes would not be nearly as high in production. Hughes last year because of his low PK time, played and extra 6 games worth of 5v5 time than Makar. 6 whole games worth! Thats 7% of a season. And here is the one that really ruffles feathers. The Pacific division is not as competitive as the Central.

  9. Worth mentioning that Makar plays significantly more penalty killing minutes than Hughes.

  10. Makar is generational. I'm too young to have seen Bobby Orr play live but what Makar has done and probably will do moving forward is something special. As long as he's there and healthy Avs will be a tough out if not a legit cup contender every season. They made the right move in clearing out cap space ahead of his upcoming extension.

  11. I love my boi zach, but unfortunately a name like makar or hughes carry enough weight on their own to probably knock out of contention for the hardware. If he does receive it tho id be elated 🙏

  12. you didnt show anybody playing defense until 9.5 minutes into an 11 minute video about the norris. what a clown

  13. You want to grow the game of hockey? Get the word out on not only how fast, skilled and entertaining it is, but dive deep into the game behind the game, discuss all of the little details that your average fan might miss and/or might not know about.

Rather than fight Hockey Psychology, the NHL oughta hire Hockey Psychology.

  14. Can you make a video about the Boston Bruins please? For a person who doesn't know that much about Ice Hockey but I do support the Bruins, I need answers as to why we're so bad at the moment.

  15. If the Canucks make it into the playoffs Hughes is securing the back to back

  16. So good to hear so many people talking about Z and the jackets in good light. Would love to see Werenski get the Norris.

  17. Columbus is having one hell of a year this year. To me its a mix of players finally playing to potential, a storyline of playing for their lost teammate in Gaudreau, and the eastern conference suddenly becoming a mosh pit of teams fighting for the wild card and not playing as good as previous years

  18. Most of the time the Norris is given to the Dman with the most points. I think points should take a back seat to actual defensive metrics but that's just my opinion.

Not taking away from any of these guys they are all elite. But maybe there should be a different trophy for best offensive defenseman? Honor Orr/Howe by naming the trophy after one of them. Like how we have the Selke for best defensive forward.

  19. Until Hughes can PK and hit, I just can’t entertain calling him the most well rounded defenseman. It’s not that he doesn’t do those things as well as Makar, he flat out doesn’t do them. Makar also takes significantly more defensive zone starts. He is put in the highest risk defensive situations and Hughes is sheltered from them. I don’t think these things are talked about enough.
