It’s Naychess… someone tell Bednar
Frost is a fearful player but not Farabee a warrior with Little bit SKILL not a great skater
Three former first rounders***
Puljujarvi not working out wasn't cause of a language barrier, it was cause he was uncoachable and unwilling to change his game to match his skill set.
He wants to play the game like Laine, but lacks the hands and shot consistency to do that, the player he was meant to be is a grinding forechecking winger with a nose for the net.
Ryan lomberg!
Its not easy to make a good trade
You just have to want to do it
In the case of the leafs they are not creative, nor are they prepared to have any balls
Good analysis
This is not Steve's fault, but calling this a huge deal in the video title is a joke. Don't clickbait your viewers
You're 90%, everything except Pelletier was never going to work out in Calgary. I feel like he's nowhere near his ceiling, and he's going to find it wherever he is, but it was probably a bit higher in Calgary where his size and physicality wasn't as much an issue. You said it yourself Tortorella likes 'em big and feisty.
Pelltier didn't need a fresh start. He was just finally healthy and hitting his stride. He was wanted in Calgary but was hampered by injury.
Just as a heads up since this was surprisingly quiet at the time it happened – the "something" that changed for Farabee between this season and last season was him getting the same spinal/back surgery Jack Eichel got traded to Vegas over (Edit: Disc Replacement Surgery). So uh, that's probably playing a big role in his scoring being down.
Also Torts legitimately loved Farabee prior to the surgery and gave him a ton of opportunities to play back up to standard – unfortunately his body just doesn't seem to be recovered enough to do so.
so far best analysis of this trade I've seen so far
Yep, feels like a win for both teams. All 4 players have potential to play a lot better. And with the exception of Kuzmenko perhaps, all will likely play many more NHL games for years to come. Glad to see the Flames doing something instead of talking about doing something😅
stumbled on your site and decided to give a listen – dude, brilliant analysis!! bravo and thank you.
It’s gonna take kuzmenko one shift to be firmly planted in Torts’ doghouse
Seems like a very grounded analysis
Steve Dangle: We shouldn't make too much of these players being drafted in the first round.
Also Steve Dangle: Huge deal involving two former 1st rounders!
Steve, i see you have sold your soul to a "gaming/betting" site. Do you really believe gambling benefits anyone?
You could have picked up Pelletier for nothing in September
Hey Dangle, I'll take those two PS4s now…
Def win/win with slight edge to Cgy. Philly could of had Pelletier for free earlier this yr as He was on the waiver wire but He cleared.
Time for an update to the old Phil Kessel trade tree. That thing is still going! Kessel for the pick that became Hamilton, who went to Carolina for Lindholm/Hanifin, who each got traded separately… the former of which went to Vancouver for Kuzmenko + prospects/picks and Kuzmenko now to Philly for a couple of young guys who could stretch that tree out even further
Forgot to mention Pelts was on waivers this year and no one claimed him
Flyers keep looking so far down the road they’ll never see daylight
3 first rounders, either this is top tier engagement or this hockey account doesn't know what its talking about
Remember when Vancouver "won the Kuzmenko sweepstakes"? Ya…………
I'm sad to see Pelts go but he didn't have the best experience in Calgary. 1st season getting insulted by Sutter when didn't even know what number he was. 2nd season getting injured within the first couple of games. I wish him the best of luck in Philly
Farabee found himself "in the doghouse" after being on the first line for much of the season. Both Farabee and Frost got SOOO many opportunities to prove they could take the reigns and be point producers for this team and every time they couldn't produce. I hope the change of scenery works out for both guys, they seem like cool dudes with a good bit of skill but it's not like Torts just hated them and that was all.
Hoping excited we got Pelletier in the deal, seems like a prototypical undersized type Flyer, could add something to this dying season.
Play in a place where you are wanted is an absurd take. Flames fans love the kid. Do some research?
lol @ steve….theres no way in hell this trade goes unless you give us a 7th pick draft 4 years from now LOL..that was priceless
If you got 2 ps4s you could play games which idk if you could do that with the ps5
Who would be upset getting two PS4s for free?
As a lifelong flyers fan I love the trade. I think it has a lot of potential to really work out for us, BUT, if it doesn’t work out performance wise we are in the same position we we were in before the trade but cleared cap space and have another draft pick in the draft. With that being said I think it will work. And there’s great potential for the flyers to get better now. Michkov and kuzmenko on the same line could be dangerous.
I think our next move is to get a new coach.
