Great for the Canucks for some intangibles. Marcus Petersson will add a calming Swedish element voice to the team, and they are going to need that He's a really solid PK'er and is reliable and suprisingly fearless in that he'll stick up and get in some dangerous fights! O'Conner or OC as we called him, he really does have another level and his value should become immediately evident. He is/was under some sort of curse when it came to goal scoring, but I'm sure the clean air in BC will benefit him. Decent trade for both teams.
Why not they had two Craig Adams on the team and two guys named sedin
This is a barely won day of trades for Vancouver, IF they both flop out of the playoffs and fail to extend Marcus P. Playoffs or extend MP, a win but still….hmm. Playoffs AND extend MP, big win.
Now, speaking as a die hard Canuck fan. Sad to lose Miller, but if you look at long range, Miller's 8M yearly is going to start aging badly, fast. Anyway…we have a decent forward pool as is, ranging up to pretty good when on all cylinders. The backend has been the weakness for years. Now, the acquisition of Marcus P does a couple of things. One, it gives us a sold second pairing. Two, it eases the minute burden on Hughes. Both are really good things.
Canucks Fans think this is a win replacing JT Miller with A guy who's been in the league for 8 seasons and has amassed an astonishing 164 points and less than 100 goals, Only hit 20 Goals once
Meanwhile JT Miller Last season alone Had 103 points…..nothing else you got in this deal is even really relevant, Marcus is a good dman but you aren't competing for a cup without JT Miller lmao not even close. Heinen has 2 less points than Chytil this season lmao and is far less of a Bandaid.
I think it was a great trade by canucks. Heinen is trash. Plus huge cap space. Exactly oconnor plus 2x cap and shorter.
Past all the meme comments about having so many Pettersson's, I really like this trade. Are we winning the cup this year? Definitely not. Miller is 31 and on the decline. In 2 years, we'd probably be complaining that we have 4 more years with this guy. Now, we get a good top 4 Dman. I will add that Allvin seems to have an issue bringing in great goal scoring. He can find over-performing grinders well but thats about it.
Huffing Gluebas doesn't play or like big players. Desharnais will be an overpaid 7th dman
Triple Pettetration
que the lane leaf fans' pettersson jokes.
This redeems the Miller trade to the Rangers. Went from a fleecing to an even pick up for the Canucks.
I’m a Sabres fan … I know, do I have a death wish. Happened across this video and I like the enthusiasm and insight. You are different than so many other hockey YouTubers. Just appreciate it
Hey miller 🖕 how about another Pettersson
On the real.
Canucks finally get a third top defender.(myers sucks, can't defend if his life depend on it)
Marcus pertterson last year on a non playoff team was 14 plus/minus.
Nikita zadorov was only a plus 6 when he played for van and in the minus before he got traded to van.
If marcus gets traded, hopefully we get someone whos defensivly sound like marcus or zadorov.
Dubas cooking good last couple months
People have been far too hard on Dubas. He had a rough first year. Since then he has been much better. Seems like a lot of the NHL/Toronto media want him to fail to justify their disdain of him
As a Pens fan, though it was inevitable, I'm sorry to see Pettersson go. He has quietly been our best defenseman for years, always under the radar, but saving our asses time and time again. And if O'Connor can regain his offense from last year, he'll be a helluva bottom six player. Always doggedly puck hunting. And I had to laugh at the "Dubas and his boys" comment because this trade screams out Jim Rutherford and his boys😅!
Isn't there a goalie named Patterson we can acquire?
"I don't want to make everything about Toronto".(proceeds to then make everything about Toronto)
Got Fleeced twice couldve had Petterson for free at FA and had another asset in the future no matter what way u look at it we over payed and didn't get payed enough
Maybe for the nerds, but if Rantanen and Miller weren't just traded, Kuzmenko, Pettersson, and Granlund are names that still deserve a video!
Can't wait to see the Canucks get a goalie that's consistent , haven't seen one in Vancouver in a decade
