  1. Desharnais is terrible. He's rugged and stands up for teammates, but easily beat by NHLers. He's barely American league caliber, truth. Heinen is weak, soft, lousy and doesnt have a high compete level, glad to see them go.

  2. Team Pettersson, soft over rated over paid gl with that. Tochet lost the room and chased their best player out of town. Don,t sugar coat it. If an ultimate team players like Miller and Vinny D , that tells me there is trouble in the ranks behind closed doors.

  3. Hind end uh Heinen sucked as a Pen before. So why wouldn’t he suck now? Way to go Dumbas!!!another fleecing!

  4. For the penguins, this deal makes sense given the contracts, and the emphasis on their rebuild. I expect they may not be done yet. They should blow this team up for picks and prospects. Maybe Pittsburgh gets decent service out of this pair from the Canucks , but they sure didn’t cut it in Vancouver.

For the Canucks, without Miller, they simply do not have a true number one center. His absence is going to further hurt their power play which has dropped off a cliff compared to last season. Nothing here makes me think they are going to be a legit playoff team.

It’s possible they squeak in, but will be blasted by the JETS or any team capable of catching them. It’s hard to believe this years canucks are roughly the same team that tore through the league for the first few months last season. Were it not for Hughes and the surprisingly good play of Kevin Lankinen in net, the Canucks would be already planning their end of season vacations.

  5. The canucks found their pieces with DOC as the forechecking / penalty killing forward and a shutdown defender in M Petey… this take was so biased, y’all clearly didn’t get jack shit for the return, stop it 😅

  6. We'll just have to see if this trade brings any benefits to the Pens. Honestly, I'm all in on a complete rebuild…… Clean house and start all over again with a young, energetic group of players, a new coach and hopefully exciting hockey. Crosby would be the only player I'd keep.

  7. The Vancouver Penguins thank you for Marcus Pettersson and taking Desharnais off our books 😃

  8. Always love the coverage Nick but Desharnais is not the kind of player you're selling him on. He will absolutely drop the gloves with just about anyone, yes, but i don't think the guy has thrown a big hit in his entire career. His size during the play is a complete non-factor.

  9. I Hope the Pens get rid of Graves next, even if its for a 3rd round pick, then I'll feel a little bit better there will still be Penguins in Pittsburgh next year & the year after. Otherwise, Du(m)bas(s) is gonna keep beating down the roster just like he did in Toronto & God only know whats going to happen. Maybe the Pens move to Arizona. God help us all.

  10. I hope you realise that the pens are going to be a horrible team for the next decade.

you are bottom of the league and instead of signing the only two way defenceman you have, you trade him away.

ok so you have a first rnd pick.
    WHEN does that come good?
    2030?
    if ever!

this team is going to so get shelled.

crosby must be so angry for being lied to.

    malkin is toast.

    letang is almost done.

  11. Dubas is so clueless.

you don't have to trade away your current team in order to rebuild. look at how long the canadiens have been rebuilding. they are still not in the playoffs. and they have a smart gm!

  12. Jim Rutherford loves trading 1st round picks like they are nothing. Basically the Rangers 1st round pick for Marcus Pettersson. The salaries are a wash. MP is $4.025,175AAV. Desharnais is $2AAV and Heinen is $2.25AAV. Both have 1 year deals and Desharnais can be traded next deadline as he is a big right shot defense man. No Nils Hoglander, Keifer Sherwood, Dakota Joshua, Elias Pettersson dman, or any other top prospect. No talk on Hoglander by anyone is odd.
