Great coverage. My Blues are a mess, I wonder who we trade next.
As a Flames fan I hated to see Pelletier leave. He was very popular and was starting to turn his game around after Injuries had set him back the previous year. He has become a good penalty killer as well. I wish him all the best.
Flames fan looking for insight. But 15:16 while I know less than I'd like two about the player coming our way, I do know more about Torts. Buddy is not pro level. Not a patient teaching coach. He is never going to work with a player its my way or the bench no stops on the way. Worst possible guy for young players. So I'm hopeful that after the pts is dealt with these guys are both on the second line and doing well
Flames fan here: This trade benefits both teams in different ways.
Calgary isn't banking on these players being any good, if you look at their recent history they love taking shots on 23-27 year old guys that haven't panned out. It's a good way to add value if you're trying to compete with team that doesn't have star plays. Maybe Farabee/Frost turn it around, probably not but there's always a chance.
Philly got less value but they managed to do 3 or 4 beneficial things with this trade 1) Get mitchkov a buddy 2) Shed cap 3) Add a pick 4) Add a decent replacement young guy, at half the cost.
I think the value tilts towards the Flames but this trade benefits both teams.
