The condition of the old owner selling the team to the new Utah group was that he retained all the intellectual property of the Coyotes so he can relaunch the team in AZ if he gets the stadium worked out within a certain time frame so Utah never had access to those sweaters. Also, I think this new ownership group dropped the ball in a big way saying they had everything together for three years, but don’t have a name for the club? Keeping them right on par with the Washington Football Team – not exactly an inspired start to NHL hockey in Utah.
The Utah Hockey Club will not have anything to do with the Arizona Coyotes, except former employees, active players and draft picks. Everything else is totally new.
And the Coyotes will be back. Maybe not in the near future, but eventually.
