I would like to see 16 and 34 split up for at least 6 to 8 more games. That should give the coaching staff enough solid evidence of whether it works or not. It has always seemed to me that 91 and 16 just work, JTs production seems to get better as does Marners. Domi seems to find a new gear when playing with 34 and Knies seems to feel it too, he seems to play well with anybody.
Reality check boys, the Canucks are a really hard out lately. They blanked The Avs recently. They smother opponents.

Vancouver should enjoy this win. They're not making the playoffs. They're just not that good. The Leafs had to play totally uninspired hockey to only lose 2-1 to the Canucks.

My dad was a teacher at the time and he felt this run was something special, but he didn’t know for sure if Terry would arrive in Thunder Bay before school started on Tuesday or not, so the family got in the van and drove east of town until we came upon him running in front of his camper and police escort maybe 50ish km from town?🚔
Terry ended his run on Monday, Sept 1, 1980 just short of Thunder Bay. If he could have made it into town that Labour Day Monday he would have surely received a Hero’s Welcome along every street he travelled.🇨🇦
The entire city was anticipating his arrival for weeks and we were all as devastated for him as the rest of our great country was when it was announced that he had to stop.😢

I feel like Tree is going to be scouting trade partners so that the leafs can make a move once the 4NF break is over. I also hope they can land Owen Power. I feel like he could be a Jake Sanderson type he just needs some seasoning. Could be worth getting some youth once Rielly ages out.

Marner and Nylander both want the puck on their stick entering the zone. It doesn't work. Exactly. Never tried Marner down the middle. I think he would shine with McMann and Robertson on his wings. Then you put Matthews with Knies and Domi, and Tavares with Nylander and Pax. At least try it. I don't know how Marner is on faceoffs, but everything else that he does screams great centerman.
