Noesen basically told you that there is an issue in the room which explains the erratic play. I was shocked that none of the sold called media didn't press him more on it. I know you dont want to talk about it, Ace, but you know who he is talking about. I think we need to talk about it, and what's sad is if those individuals get labeled as "problems " they lose trade value. If we are building a gritty team that must play playoff hockey, we know who doesn't belong and will never conform to that style of play. I think you need to start a new catch phrase. Post break schedule is pretty scary. Lots of upper tier playoff teams and home and home with Columbus. If this doesn't turn, it could get even uglier.
That was honestly the first time I was tuned out after the second period of a Devils game. I never want to see that again! However, win Saturday and go into the break with some momentum. Go Devils
Sorry but this team is missing the playoffs or getting in the wild card bounced round one. It's a losing culture that they can't seem to shake. STOP BLAMING FITZ DEVILS FANS.
FOURTH, FOURTH BEST ODDS TO WIN THE CUP WITH THE TEAM HE PUT TOGETHER. Using him or the coach as a scapegoat STILL is pathetic at this point maybe just MAYBE it's time yo blame the PLAYERS crazy concept i know. Team was asleep first 10 games of the szn, team has been asleep since Xmas too. Too many times shutout, too many times losing to bottom feeders, too many times pitiful efforts. This team has to figure it out before all fans start to lose faith in the core and they have to blow it up and they go through a never ending rebuild. If they miss the playoffs this year why should we expect em to make it next year? Or the year after? "Oh they're still young they're still young" SPARE ME. Too many players on this team are just along for the ride. Nate Bastian had 5 "hits" yet each one is like being hit by a 200 lbs pillow. The only time I notice a Bastian hit is when Nate is laying crumpled on the ice. I'd rather not get scoring from MacDermid, at least he hits hard. Unfortunately, Tatar hasn't worked out, Dowling is asquandering his opportunity, Lazar has not been the same since his injury (1 shot in 5 games?!) The effort is not there. Nico Hischier should be a lock for the hart trophey.
Hope they can get their shit together soon before the break, but even if they make the playoffs, they are not getting past Carolina.

So glad I was at The Rock to witness the most pathetic and embarrassing loss all season. ZERO effort, ZERO intensity, ZERO f*cks given. Not a single player showed up but Jake Allen. Our offense is in shambles. Nemec didn't seem to know where he was. Taking away that 2nd goal was just icing on the loser cake. I don't know where The Devils were but they weren't there last night. Those boys should be ashamed of themselves.
That being said, gotta compliment the refs. They did not miss a single opportunity to improve our PK stats, but even the PK Vuvuzella guy left early and we had to resort to faking the horn by the 2nd period.
AND I didn't win the 50/50. It's F*CKING embarrassing!

If this team doesn't come out with a fire after Four Nations break I'm convinced this season is cooked. Noesen is entirely right in that post game, you could see it in his eyes, frustrated and absolutely bewildered at the lack of effort from the guys on the ice.

It definitely was hard to watch! If it wasn’t for Allen, they would have gotten beat a lot worse. I have been hoping for them to turn it around since this last stretch, but they just haven’t. Their breakout is terrible. When they get pressured, they flick the puck up out of the zone in desperation! Hard to watch. Even if they do make the playoffs, it doesn’t look like they’re going anywhere.!
We didn't expect this at all. I'm still disappointed about this defeat. How could coach Keefe make mistakes that caused Vegas to cheat? I don't get that.

With ownership and Fitz, the organization is constructed for PR and nothing more. It's the stardom of the Hughes brothers and a supporting cast, aimed at attracting fans in a family-friendly atmosphere driven for merchandising and profits. Go with the flow, don't rock the boat, and you're guaranteed long-term employment in the Devils' org. Winning is completely secondary. Players like Noeson are finding this out.

Devils have 7th most difficult remaining schedule. The calming thing is the Isles have 3rd, Blue Jackets 5th and Rangers -6th. We will be alright!😏😅

Worst effort of the season. Completely left Allen out to dry time after time. Nemec looked rough. I think Bryce Salvador mispoke, saying Nemec was in a tough spot because Vegas was playing so well. Vegas was literally one of the very few teams who have worse than us in the last month and have major injuries too. Nemec and Luke should not be together, I agree. Gotta win tomorrow…. We have been playing BAD hockey and are only 2 back from the Canes.

Bastian, Tatar, Dowling, and Lazar need to be upgraded. MacDermid only needs to play when it calls for him. 2 Guys I think we should try and bring in are Jake Evans and Joel Armia(It would be nice to get them after the next game in MTL). D pairings should be Luke-Brett / Nemec-Kova/ Dillon-Dougie. If Nemec can play good with Kova maybe it allows the devils to look at Siegs as trade bait in the offseason. It would free up some money for other things as Kova would be a cheaper option.
I never believed in this years team for a single second. I told everyone Fitz's offseason moves would fail. He's the worst GM in the league. This isn't a playoff team. Nothing changes until Fitz is out the door.

We are fine. The boys need to show they have heart tho. I’m more concerned about getting knocked out round 1 than not making playoffs. Carolina hasn’t been much better. Washington is the only team in our division with consistency. Focus on the last games of the season and forget this ugly past. We got this guys.

Unfortunately that seems to have happened to a lot of teams, the Jeckyll & Hyde. We don't have to look far, Rangers have had the same kind of season. Vegas now 4-8-3 i believe since their amazing start, they will continue to struggle now that they don't have the Devils to beat up. Canadiens were the best team in hockey for a long stretch, now they are free falling. That said, you are right man, it looks bad. Maybe this team starts to play better with their backs to the wall, after the break, we can only hope. I pray Nico really is ready by then, Marky in March. It's gonna be a dogfight & we need dogs. I am not a Fitz lover, but i can't judge until the trade deadline. Gotta beat the Habs Saturday. They gotta figure it out.
I give Nemec another shot 100% because at this point, if he doesnt move the needle against a struggling Habs team, he can go back to Utica. Rather give someone else a chance.

Well Ace, what a piss poor effort by the entire team besides a few players. but also a fucking disappointing effort by the refs, but we had the devil hating scumbag Chris Rooney and people at the arena after the game knew we weren't going to win this game when we saw his name pop up as an official for tonight's game. and i hate to say it but Noesen will want off this team if we don't show any effort like we did last night against the Knights, and i don't blame him. and if that DOESN'T show our sleepy lazy GM that something needs to be done then i don't know what will. anyway lets just put this game behind us and move onto Saturday vs the Canadians LGD!!!!

With all due respect, nobody has proven that they are a better than Lou as GM. Lou – 3 cups. Nemec needs to realize that not all first rounders end up having a successful career. The ones that do have a successful career understand it’s on them and they need to show their value at the NHL level. I get the comment was a little out of context, but still. May not be fair to judge him on just 1 game, but based on this season alone I’m trading him, and keeping Casey. I honestly wish the 2 dummies would sell the team to someone who actually cares, and they would gut everyone from the offices other than people like Marty. I’m sorry but imo this problem starts at the top with 2 people who seem to view this team as an investment only, and only care about their profit. The fact that we had Shero do very little, and then just moved Fitz – his assistant – into the spot has always had me skeptical. It’s a disgrace. Then you look at the Isles who are consistently making the playoffs with Lou at the helm, or at least more than us. As they say in Remember the Titans. – “attitude reflects leadership.” Lou wasn’t perfect but 3 Cups, consistent playoff appearances, versus one Hart trophy winner (who tf cares hockey is a team sport,) and 2 number 1 draft picks because we had such shitty seasons, both of whom seemed doomed to languish away on a poorly managed roster. I’ll always love this team, but wtf already. And the NHL needs to let them play, and stop using referees to try to influence gameplay.

Cotter and Mercer are not problems; they need a more productive center.
I do not mind Haula in the fourth line; that line needs to be serviceable, and I think it has been. Ditto for Lazar ant Tatar. They are not third liners.
As for Nemic, there are already offensive minded d-men. If he is played, lining him up with Luke was a recipe for problems. I would not advise it again.
I remember the camera panned on Hischier watching in the stands in the 2nd period….you can tell he was pissed. Noesen was all pissed. I find it comical Keefe said all the players care; Shows Noesen knows more than Keefe. It's obvious some players don't care, and those players who don't care need to be shipped out. I would not play Nemec today. I would send him down, and bring Casey up….Casey has shown a lot more potential.
I see what you mean… I definitely think some areas of player “leadership” have to take the blame but some aspects of the coaching and management also!
Take Jack Hughes and Dougie Hamilton for example. People talk about them as if they walk on water… and they have the ability to play like that, as we saw before the break. But they are not playing with ANY physicality!!! And hockey is a very physical game! Separate the man from the play and your teammates have an opportunity to support and take the play the other way. We are not seeing any of this like we did before the break. Jack has been ok in this department the last couple of games… but Hamilton… what a waste of size he is 😢
He would rather give away the puck than take a hit to make the play! And yes… that is bad leadership!
People harp on Seigs, Tatar, Mercer, and especially Timo, but these guys are leaders! They play their heart out every shift!
Jack and Dougie… not so much. They need to sit together in the press box to send a message.
Which brings us to the coach. Switch the lines and STICK WITH THEM FOR AN ENTIRE GAME!!! Put Timo on the right and LEAVE HIM THERE! Preferably with Nason and Jack as line mates.
And Fitz… he might have missed the boat again this year by not doing something yet. Prices are going to much higher the closer we get to the deadline and the more this team obviously continues to need help!!!
We are unfortunately looking at a first round exit in my opinion if we don’t do something BIG.
