Jesse,100 percent. It's petty to have Chicago take a shot at an analyst. The sports fan base usually weren't pro players. Yet you also want them to buy merchandise, tickets, etc. Valid criticism from an analyst or a random fan is valid. Their title shouldn't matter. Despite a lack of current success, it doesn't take much to act professionally or be classy. That doesn't cost anything.
Bedard is way too overhyped.

i don't agree with alot of Biz's takes but his criticism is valid. its almost like the blackhawks is treating their golden goose as a marketing item than a hockey player. its ok, stay in the basement then.
This is why people – and I say this as a Devils fan – prefer Red Wings fans. Despite almost 100 years of NHL history, Hawks fans can never seem to act like they've been there before

I think it's a good jab from the Blackhawks to remind people that even if Bedard has some growth to do, he is an elite player and one shouldn't just focus on the negative.
I also think that reporter should stop using school yard tactics to get quotes. "this person said this about you, what do you think about that," is a great way to deflect the accusation at another person and Bedard nailed it in his answer. He doesn't need anyone to tell him when he screwed up, he knows. He just has to learn from these mistakes.

All criticism of Bedard is perfectly acceptable. When one purposefully exaggerates, bs’s, or makes crap up that’s not “analysis” its being a mouthy whore for clicks and views.

Bedard’s response was perfect. Well said, kid. Remember that Biz is mostly a talking head, he’s occasionally a professional analyst but mostly chauvinistic and arrogant af. Not worth the energy to give people like this any kind of merit. Cuz he has very little.

why would anyone take advice about what it takes to play winning hockey let alone winning stanley cups from bissonette? he played in a grand total of 4 playoff games over 2 seasons (and had a pim of 15 over 3 games during 1 of those seasons) during his "illustrious" career. chicago loves pond hawkey – 88 to 98 bebe!!
Sports fans by and large struggle with nuance, especially if they perceive you as going after someone they're fans of.
Biz is right, but with a caveat.
He is thinking about how Bedard can contribute the most right now to the team, while the org and coaches are thinking all about how to not limit the offensive ceiling: encouraging him to push his limits, to experiment, to remain hyper creative etc.
That has the potential to look a little like selfish hockey. Sorry, but development is more important to Chicago right now than keeping games close. That comes secondary.
What should maybe ease everyone's mind, however, is the guarantee that Bedard's developmental priorities will eventually shift to the more complete game that everyone wants

To be honest, it can also be seen as Biz hopping on the train of national broadcasters calling Bedard out for plays that are typical for a 19 year old forward. Messier earlier in the week and now Biz. They didn’t talk about the board battle Bedard won setup the tying goal in that game because they know criticism of a young star like Bedard will generate views. Bedard’s response was perfectly fine and what you’d expect and the Chicago Twitter account was just having fun with it. Everyone is overreacting to all of this.
As usual, Jesse is bang on.
But maybe cut the Chicago Blackhawks organization some slack. It was a chirp. And chirping is a part of hockey.

To be fair, I don't see this as a media feud; instead all I see is the Hawks' media coordinator cashing in on the "controversy" to try and inspire further passion from their cranky/depressed fan base. After all, it's not like their fans have very much aside from Bedard to cheer about! LOL.
Seems to me this is a nothing burger, everyone is right in this situation, Biz can criticize Bedard and the Hawks post was pretty funny even if they come off a little butthurt. Both sides are gonna survive.

Biz going about it this way may ruin that friendship they had I mean they did interviews this summer worked out together did the grouse grind together he spoke highly of him and had his back 100%. However I get that a guy can give insight and criticize a bit but I feel like biz went a little too far with it and that will tarnish that bond they had. Bedard is the kind of kid that expects the most out of himself and when he screws up he knows and is actively working on it to try and better himself, his game and his team. I mean he doesn’t have much to work with right now but his production is still on par with players like jack hughes, Mathew’s and MacKinnon. I mean he hit 100 points in the same amount of games as Mathews on a team that is 100x worse than Toronto ever was when Mathew’s came into the league. MacKinnon took143 games to hit 100 Hughes took 160 games. Look at the players they are now. I watched him a lot In Regina and he could change the game on his own in seconds. The nhl is obviously a completely different level but I believe if chi gives him a line mate or 2 that is worth something he will flourish. They need to surround him with some legit #1’s not ahlers like donato or kurashev

I am a hawks fan amd i can verify that most Hawks fans are generally idiots when it comes to hockey. The amount of Hawks "fans" that still think Panarin is on the team is stunning
