It’s tragic that we are wasting McDrais prime years with Skinner at net. Take a moonshot with gibson. it’s just so painful to see these guys work so hard every night to try to cover up skinners awfulness.

Skinner costed us the series and probably a cup win in 2023 vs Vegas as they would have beat the Stars and a banged up Florida. 2024, he gets saved by Pickard in 2nd round and plays significantly worse than Bob in the final. Do we want to make it 3 years in a row where we lose cause of Skinner.
Gibson doesn't want to come here and be a backup or tandem he wants the #1 spot. Gibson and Pickard are not the answer. The only way you take Gibson is if he's willing to tandem and fight for the #1 spot, dont just give it to him.

Gibson wants to be the man. Many anti-Skinner losers have recency bias here. You are playing with fire with Gibson and I would say a Gibson – Picard duo is not better.

So concerned about money or disruption to the team blah blah blah. This thinking is shortsighted. If Skinner plays his usual erratic game and starts costing the oilers wins in the playoffs like he has, you will wish the oilers had made a trade. You're not the gm let him worry about making the money work. The oilers would be so much better a team than they already are with consistent predictable good to great goaltending.
