If they can get him to tell them that he doesn’t want to sign there then they 100% should flip him. Losing Necas and Drury for half a season of Rantanen would be a colossal failure.

  2. The entire team has been sick the last couple of weeks. No one has been doing well for a few games and some players have been out. I wish everyone would leave the guy alone. It's exhausting.

  3. It’s so much easier to fit into the Avs system, especially being on the top line with Nate than it is fitting into the Canes system, especially as the Avs top line pget more ice time than the Canes top line, so not only is Mikko not playing with Nate, Makar.. etc, he’s also getting less ice time. Mikko will find a way to shine, the best players always do.

  4. whole trade by Carolina seemed to come from desperation to reach the next level and not from common sense. Think of it, they could end up losing Necas, Drury, Hall and the draft picks in addition to losing Rantanen. They have an aging Jordan Staal and an ancient Brent Burns and Andersen is probably at the end of his career. Meanwhile. Colorado has Necas and Drury for the rest of this year and at least all of next year. The whole trade reeks of desperation and is looking like a total disaster for Carolina. And I would say that is the case whether or not they lose Rantanen OR resign him to an 8 year, $12++? million contract. Brilliant, brilliant trade by MacFarland for the Avs!!

  5. No one is talking that the Canes will have over 35 million in Cap Space. Plus they have their core players.

  6. Rants should have had the self awareness to not ask for 14 million. The third best player on the team does not ask for the most money. He did this to himself.

  7. Bro they hath to come up with what stuff to keep getting paid the best resolution is get rid of all the media and podcast and just show stats and highlights like the old days because they talk about these players very badly for no reason but if this world was a physical world instead of this weak scary and traumatized world we live in majority of the weaklings have the power to talk about people badly because they are protected by the law.

  8. It sounds like you guys don't even watch the games. Mikko hasn't been bad at all for the Canes. He's actually been quite good. The problem is on the opportunities that he's had, he's not buried them. He's gotten unlucky and rang the post four times already. It's not like he's not getting chances and his team isn't passing him the puck.

On the other hand, Necas is hot right now after being ice cold for the last dozen games or so for Carolina. And you guys don't even pronounce his name correctly.

It's really hard to take your show seriously.

  9. Hockey expert here. Let me clear the air for everyone. BOTH are good players. Rantanen is better overall than Necas right now we know this. But here's what people don't know. Rantanen averaging 5 minutes less per game in Carolina than he had in Colorado. That's a big difference. The less ice time you have, the less chances you have to get points. Simple as that. He's also not playing with MacKinnon and Makar. Lastly, he has to fit into the Carolina system which isn't a free attacking offensive game. So combine all this and naturally Rantanen is going to go down from being a 40-50 goal scorer 105 point player to about a 35-40 goal scorer and 90 points per year. On the flipside, Necas is playing 5 minutes more per game now on Colorado. He's getting more ice time which means more touches, more chances to score. He's playing with MacKinnon and Makar and the Avs system is offensively minded so it's easier now for Necas to be free and fly on the ice and rush and join the attack to score. So it makes sense why he'd be a point per game player now whereas in Carolina he was about .80 ppg player.

  10. One thing nobody ever talks about is the fact that 99% of “scorers” from a western team going to a more defensive, grinding eastern team never translates well. East teams play a different style than west teams do. The only one who has scored the same is Matthew Chucky!! Rants lack of production should not come of a surprise. Same with Necas thriving in the west. I mean you may even see Drury’s points go up on a west team if he can ever figure out how to not shoot in the goalies chest.
