Revisiter les Devils du New Jersey 2003

Les Devils ont gagné en 2003. Un homme stupide a affirmé que c’était les ailes. Je ne nommerai pas les noms. 1. That's a sweet hat, I love that "vintage" Devils jersey too, they have the best aesthetic. They're on the Whalers' level of ingenuity

  2. All the wins during the cup final were basically decided by who had home ice advantage.

  3. This is the year that run of 9 different cup winner in 9 years started, that was fun, than Chicago and LA had to ruin everything

  4. Shannon boutta be all up in my dreams if he keeps flashing that cute smile of his. Hopefully I can be all up in his walls, cute looking headass… cmon bruh

  5. For anybody saying that Brodeur is the best it's telling that in a year when he ended with a ring the other teams Goalie won the Conn Smythe

  6. And the Canuck fan me a..a.another slip away that seamed like they could have gone the distance… game 7 up by 2-0 against the wild then lost 2-4…Not sure how they would have faired against the ducks But against the devils they swept the season series

  7. This final is my favorite. The jerseys were great, the logos were great…oh yeah, and my team won.

  8. Aspartame is REALLY bad for you. You're better off drinking regular pop bro. Look up what aspartame does to your body, specifically your bodies ability to break down formaldehyde in your system.

  9. In a previous video you said dynasties have to win 3 cups in 4 years so using that logic then had this Devils team just won game 7 of the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals against the Colorado Avalanche, they would fit as a dynasty according to you.

  10. The team that lost to the Avalanche was the best Devils team by far. The A line was at it's peak in 2001 and could not be stopped, they just ran into a juggernaut in the West and had a classic 7 game series. I still don't understand how they came out so flat in game 6 against the Avs, they had a chance to win on home ice and blew it.

  11. 2000 might had the best team, but what the 1995 team did was in more impressive in my mind, sweeping heavy favorites Detroit in the final.

  12. That's my Devils! I can't say I watched hockey 2003 1. because I barley watched hockey at the time at all 2. I live in Sweden and was way to young to stay up and watch hockey that late. But I have always been a Devils fan for whatever reason.

  13. Nooooooooo! You look like god (throwback to the video where you said you didn't want the light to make you look like god)

  14. Jesus Christ. 57 points was their best in the team. Those NJ games must have been boring as hell.

  15. As much as J.S. Giguere played "out of his mind" during the playoff series leading up to the Stanley Cup Final, he played terribly IN the Stanley Cup Final. Posting a .910 SV%, 2.57 GAA and just 1 shutout. When you compare that to Marty's performance in the Stanley Cup Final (.925 SV%, 1.71 GAA and 3 shutouts), you can clearly see that Brodeur deserved the Conn Smythe. Lastly, even if we just look at their overall post-season SV% (MB: .934 JSG: .945), having a 0.011% edge in overall SV% for the post-season can't possibly justify the Conn Smyth going to the losing goalie.

  16. 2001 was the best Devils team top to bottom. I thought the worst two trades Lou ever made was trading Arnott and McKay and then trading Sykora in the off-season. Holik left and Dano and Stevens were pushing 40. During the season, the offense all but disappeared. I thought they had no chance in the playoffs.

    I was wrong.

This was my personal favorite of their SC runs. They just won games, that's it all they did.

  17. The New Jersey Devils had reached the Stanley Cup Finals for the 3rd time in 4 years between in 2000 vs. Dallas, 2001 vs. Colorado & 2003 vs. Anaheim. If the Devils won the Cup in 2001, then they should definitely be considered a dynasty.

For me, 2003 was a CLUTCH performing team.

ECSF vs. Tampa Bay Lightning ending the series in 5 games but it was in Game 5 when Grant Marshall scoring in the 3rd OT and ending the series gave me the confidence the Devils could win in Playoff Overtime.

The Devils went up on Ottawa 3-1 in the series but dropped games 5 & 6 to force a Game 7. The Devils have the lead into the 3rd period of Game 7 but Ottawa scored early in the 3rd period to tie the game. Another critical playoff game for the Devils that had OVERTIME written all over it but it was Jeff Friesen who scored late in the 3rd period to win the Eastern Conference Championship.

What some may forget about the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals was the home team won ALL SEVEN GAMES. Martin Brodeur had 7 shutouts in the 2003 Stanley Cup Playoffs and 3 of them in the FINALS. Even announcer Gary Thorne, who is all about the star players and was anti-Devils, was making an argument for Brodeur to win the Conn Smythe as playoff MVP.

  18. Brodeur took pay cuts… it was a different era… they believed in team first and winning. Honestly as a devils fan I think the fair thing to do was name 2 mvps awarded.. Brodeur has to win w 7 shut outs. And giguere was also deserving. 2001 was the best devils team but the league wanted to give it to ray.

  19. The Hockey Guy- i'm a new devils' fan. just out of curiosity when the devils win in 2003, did they have a parade? if so where was it and about how many people showed up. i heard the Devils dont have many fans.

  20. Brodeur was absolutely screwed out of that Conn Smythe. The award is supposed to go to the best player in the playoffs. In fact, his 7 playoff shutouts in 2003 are still the record; AND, 3 of those shutouts came in that Final against the Ducks – ALSO a standing record.

But apparently, losing-goalie Giguere wins it on account that his GAA was 0.03 lower and SVPct was .011 higher…? He had a phenomenal playoff in his own right, but he did not deserve "Playoff MVP" when his very own counterpart was much more valuable AND WON.
