Frederick would be a good addition. Size, skill, not afraid to drop the gloves.

You wait for free agency. Boston will fleece any team looking to trade for Frederic. Yes, he could be a good addition, but not this season. This team needs to purge not add. The Rangers need to acquire picks and youth.

I always liked Trent Frederic. In fact in his draft year I had the Rangers taking him in the 3rd round, but he went in the first!! Big surprise that. But the policy should be NO RENTALS AT ALL! Besides we already have a guy like him, physical but with way more potential offensive upside. That guy is Brennan Othmann & he's tearing it up right now with the Pack. So is Brett Berard & they are dynamite on the same line. Rangers need to make room for those two & possibly Perreault next year, which means subtracting players in the offseason. It's not about winning a Cup now, it's about adding youth & speed. With a ton of cap space Rangers need to add top level D in the free agent market.
Our playoff chances are not great, we should be sellers not buyers. It is bad enough we have the worst performing 5.5M goalie set to get a 6M/yr raise.
Its all about timing, get someone at the trade deadline or in the offsseason, but what teams will you be competing with to get the same guy and what cap space will they have to work with at that time.

If you can get McCann from Seattle it's a better play, however that may cost more. I like Frederick a lot ….I think he's wasted fighting all the time. A lot of gm's think he has more upside then he gets to show the Bruins. He could be a Tom Wilson type. If you get Braz as a package with him… Then I would be willing to give up more….both Mc and Fred are 27. So if you want production now then you go with McCann…we'll see. 🏒🍸
