I can fix the tax thing, I can, I can. Move all the teams to Texas and Florida and any other ta free zone. What'd you think?
There needs to be a tax exemption clause in the CBA such that teams get a bonus spend allowability based on the lowest nhl team's tax rate which is zero…therefore Montreal and Toronto etcetera should get a percentage of cap based on income tax higher then total cap then Florida based on their taxes.
Also…we can't keep all these prospects in the minors forever. Even based on allowable number of contracts in the NHL and AHL some of them have to go at some point. Trade them or trade expendable players at the NHL level to make room for them. This helps to shorten the rebuild time by acquiring established players who can help right now and it will help with the development of the young players who need the leadership from the vets. Lastly, by combining the vast number of picks, prospects and UFA's we have the opportunity to make trades that defer picks to future years that will help lengthen the teams time at the "top" and still have decent picks and prospects to work with in the future instead of trading away everything for a run and have nothing to stop a hard crash at the other end of it. Look at the many examples of this bad management strategy in every league in all sports.

Evans is having a great year. No argument. However, over the past 5 years, how has he performed? A 3 year contract is probably on the table. Salary wise, Evans, which I don't blame him, wants maximum salary if it is only 3 years. He will be 32 three years from now. How many teams will want him? How will he perform over the next 3 years?
Evans has developed well & Armia complements well with that chemistry they developed with Heinemen. Hard to get a 4th line to generate offence especially when scoring is hard to come by on 5 on 5 formations.
Either we sign & keep Evans along with Armia or we let him go to the highest bidder. Draft picks would make sense because Beck, Kapanen, Florian X & Davidson are all developing well. When we let go of Danault, it was hard to replace him. We took the time to develop him & got nothing in return when he was free to walk. Let’s not forget about Demidov & Hage as well.
Our problem offensively are at the 2nd & 3rd line center position. Dach has not done the job as expected but he did show signs of improvement recently. Dvorak is more a defensive minded player. He has had numerous chances to score during recent games but can’t generate much offensively. Good teams have balance. This is what we need to improve on if you want long term success. I believe Heinemen should be given a look to play on the top line because Slaf is not ready to assume that role. Newhook can be either a winger or center. Hugo will need to make a decision on Dach. His cap hit is very reasonable given his potential. I don’t think his value is very good numbers wise but he does have potential to shine given his age.
Overall, it is a good problem to have with many options to choose from. If we could play consistently, we are a tough opponent. Guhle’s injury was a game changer. I hope he gets back soon! Savard is likely gone. Mailloux is ready & Reinbacher will follow. It looks promising…
Trade all pending free agents if you can as well as Galagher. We are far from where we want to be and it would be a mistake to be attached to older players when we are not close to having a playoff team. I would also get rid of these players to give a chance to rookies and to give us a chance to draft Misa.

Habs should put a package together …Armia plus Evan's..plus draft picks ..for a good young 2nd line center.!! THAT should be a priority .!! With DEMIDOV coming in this will give us Two top lines …!!! We also need a big Rt. SHOT D-Man ..!!
