Unless 10 is trade bait you give 10 a 2-3 year bridge deal at best. In louzer type fashion that means a 6×8 deal is coming for a guy you really don't know what he will produce going forward. First, second, or third liner is the question? I'd say 3.5×3 unless 10 can become a reliable 25 g + scorer.
And 4 nations shows the master of ruining everything he touches bettman should have never gotten rid of the n. america vs. the world format for all-star game only to be replaced by a two day fkn circus of gimmicks. I actually liked n. america vs. world game. it just never had time to grow into a rival game thanks to bettman.
And when 6 or any other d man returns 26 goes down probably thru waivers first then 34 is next. Tony d. will remain.
And locked on sj the other day discussed possible 8 trade with sj and all the ridiculous trades for 8 thrown around there were ridiculous. sj could be possible if 8 is traded and sharks will be drafting top 3 again and if they take a forward again sj may look to trade market for d man. A trade for 8 must include red hot sj second rounder chernyshov-25 pts. in 8 games 2.88 ppg since jan. return from shoulder surgery-playing on line with potential shark first round pick misa. Why can't isles get that kind of talent up front? Another hack expert says 29 should go to jets for a menial prospect, second, third and 21 back to nj for minimal return. So 29 may not even fetch a first as a rental if louzer does decide to move him. So called hack expert must not know louzer will never deal 29 or 21 for 'futures'-NEVER.
Holmstrom is very promisng. Responsible on D, and showing improvement offensively. I would sighn him for 3-5 for 2.5 to 3 mil per
Gil I do not get excited about his play, I mean even if he gets 20 goals this season, that is less than one a week. No offense. He is a forth line at best, I would not sign him, we have enough players who cannot score.
Send Cholowski down, trade Mayfield to the Leafs they are rumored to be interested, the rest can stay. Also Riley’s contract will be up at the end of the season which gives George a spot again.
I find out odd that Russia is not part of the 4 Nations. They have far more presence in the NHL than Finland or Sweden. I imagine this is for political reasons, but a shame.
Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? Simon Holmstrom has a very promising future. He needs a new contract, and I hope he gets it, too. He uses his head when he plays. He still has to get more confidence in himself. Patrick Roy's got confidence in Hohlstrom's, and that's a good thing when a coach has confidence in a player. I 👀 Saturday 🌙 game in the 4 Nations Tournament between Team 🇺🇸 and Tean 🇨🇦 . I knew it was going to be tough when they dropped their gloves b4 the game was 10 seconds old 3x. The bitterness between the countries escalated because of President Trump and his tariffs. 🇫🇮 upset 🇸🇪 in an earlier in the day. I hope Brock Nelson stays healthy. This tournament is good so far; however, at the ASG, THE DEFENSE IS GONE. When the Islanders defensemen that are injured start ⛸️ again, Patrick Roy's going to be shuffling his core of defensemen like a deck of cards again. I like the new defensrmen they've got now, especially Tony D'Angelo as long as behaves himself on and especially off the 🧊. HAPPY 🎂, ANDRE ST. LAURENT. He was on the 🍌 line with Bob Nystrom and Garry "the toy 🐅" Howatt. This was also when the Islanders started to come of age. Great forechecker. He had 2 goals and 1 assist in a 6-2 win over the the MN North 🌟. Hear from you later, Gil, but before I go, I'm going to ⌚️ The 🌙 before 🎄 Eve, where Trots made sure those dreaded Rangers had lumps of coal in their stockings. Also, when interviewed about that 🌙, Trots said that Dave Maloney went to him and said to that if he scored one more point, we're ⛸️ our butts off tomorrow. Well, the Rangers were had one nerve left, and TROTS WORKED IT. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
Good morning team! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Gil, you and everyone that reads my comments knows how I feel about Holmstrom. With his shooting percentage I would love to see him take more shots. In my opinion, I believe we do need to sign him, and lock him down early. But, knowing our fearless leader, he'll probably opt to trading Holmstrom, which would certainly rub a nerve for me. I'm loving four nations. Excellent hockey, which I didn't expect as well. I thought players would be going through the motions. USA has an excellent goaltender, and when you combine that with the way they're playing defense, this is a tough team to beat. I'm looking forward to the trades that are going to be made. Who we're going to get, and who we're going to say goodbye to. I think Lou should be on the front side of these deals rather than waiting. Lou, it's time for the team to get younger and faster! Everyone, have a great day! Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
Holmer has a lot of upside for sure. Totally enjoying the 4 Nations Cup. Great Hockey, like the Olympics! Looking forward to Thursday Night, Hope it's against Canada again. I still think we have a big edge in this tournament with Hellebuyck! LGI & Team USA
Keep the new three… get rid of Mayfield, dobson, and Riley. Also, get rid of engvall and fasching.
My apologies for not watching every single episode this season. I’ve been busy & it sucks not being able to DVR every game so I can analyse the game (win or lose) Yes, I can afford Sling. However, I pay for Optimum & it’s a matter of principle. Holmstrom is only 23 & will turn 24 in May. Great episode! 👍
It was awesome seeing you on the islanders never say die podcast!
Holmstrom is worth at least that of number 18 or more! Romanov is likely looking at 5.5 to 6.5 . Islanders had better deal Nelson, Palms, and Dobson
Hi Gil. The Isles need Simon more than he needs the Isles. I think other teams are noticing his talents. He may have more value on the trading block than on the ice.
