– Sidney Crosby, drafted first by the Penguins during his NHL Draft year, looks likely to do even if the Pens don’t see playoff action in any season that remains of his NHL career
– Connor Hellebuyck, drafted 130th during his NHL Draft year, also looks set to do
– LeBron James, drafted first during the 2003 NBA Entry Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, will have ended up, not doing as he has switched among playing for them, the Miami Heat and LA Lakers
– Andrea Bargnani, drafted first by the Raptors in the 2006 NBA Draft, also wouldn’t end up doing, having played after his tenure with the Raptors with the New York Knicks, then Brooklyn Nets
