1. Binnington saved Canada. What a performance by him in OT. Holy heck. Also, I think it was very stupid for the US to dress Mathew Tkachuk knowing damn well he was injured. Didn’t play past the 17 minute mark of the second period. Should have just dressed a healthy forward. Also, notice how McDavid was completely shut down all game until the game winner, and who was opposite of him all night until the game winner? Eichel. Who was on the ice against him for the game winner? Mathews. Coaching error? Or just a bad change? Oh well. What a great tournament. Kinda don’t like that Canada got rewarded in the end after the US had better stats the whole tournament and more points to finish, and we went 1-1 head to head. Excited for some penguins hockey now and for what moves are to come before the deadline.

  2. That was one hellacious game last night and absolutely a classic! The NHL nailed it with this tournament! Really has me excited for 2026 in Italy. I agree with you guys about Slavin, he showed why I think he is one of most underrated defenseman in hockey. He doesn't put up a lot of points, but he does all the little things that you want in a defenseman from blocking shots, his stick work is great in breaking up passes, his body positioning in shutting down top players. If he put up more points, he probably would be a candidate for the Norris Trophy each year. He was great for Team USA he even took a goal away from Crosby in the 2nd period, and Binnington, I will eat crow as well, I was not sold on him, but he was outstanding in that OT I jumped up about 3 times, because I thought Auston Matthews had the game winner but man he was good for Canada last night.

I do think you'll see some other players next year for Team USA that weren't on the four nations roster I expect Clayton Keller, Cole Caufield, and Tage Thompson to make the Olympic Team I would even say Jason Robertson from the Dallas Stars also.

I'm ready to get back to some NHL hockey. I expect a little sloppiness from both teams tomorrow, given the fact neither has played for over two weeks so while these guys are professionals, there will probably be some sloppiness as they get back into it this weekend.

  3. Imagine if Russia had a team in this:

    Panarin – Malkin – Kucherov
    Kaprizov – Barbashev – Marchenko
    Ovechkin – Namestnikov – Svechnikov
    Voronkov – Trenin – Michkov

    Sergachev – Provorov
    Orlov – Gavrikov
    Romanov – Zadorov

    Vasilevsky
    Bobrovsky

Man that would have been a fun team to watch, too.

  4. Canada Stanley cup winners experience was difference Canada had 15 player total of 20 cups and usa have 3 player with only 3 cups and it goes show until more good American player start winning more cups then Canadian they not gonna beat Canada on beat on best

  5. Pat you sound a little down! Don’t worry you got the prediction correct haha. Jj last time I’ll bring it up. Don’t mean to troll! But overall that was a great game and 4 nations did get a ton of new fans to hockey. It would’ve been cool to have like 8 nations instead and a longer tournament but will get that at the Olympics. To us Canadians though this wasn’t just a win for a hockey game. We needed this right now for Canada because of how it’s been lately and so expensive to live here. We needed that to give us hope and unite us all again.

  6. Hopefully, the Pens players that weren't in the Four Nations Faceoff watched the play of Team USA and paid attention to how the US's "best of the best" played Sully's system and commit to forechecking and defense, blocking shots, etc.

  7. Great tournament. Congrats to canada. A lil disappointed the usa lost but its also hard to root against sidney crosby. Glad the season starts back up tomorrow. 2 tough games this weekend. Mainly want to see good efforts from pens win or lose. Caps and rangers are both better then the penguins but anything can happen in the nhl

  8. Aaaaand Matthews still can't get the job done in a winner take all in Boston. Classic Leafing.

  9. 4 Nations ruled. That was serious hockey. WOW, A+ hockey. What passion they had. That's real hockey.

  10. I understand if you fine tune USA roster they will improve but… so will Canada’s roster if they do the same. They can add Scheifele, Barzal, Bedard, Suzuki, Logan Thompson. For the championship game USA was missing Hughes, McAvoy, Canada was missing Theadore, Morrissey, Pietrangelo. I think a true best on best with those players not missing on both sides Canada still comes out on top.

  11. One thing I've noticed right away about Erik Karlsson is how lazy he plays in the NHL vs how hard he plays for his country. The Caps first goal today … lazy EK turnover, lazy EK back track, then EK standing around and watching in the defensive zone while his teammates try their best to make up for his play. At some point we have to realize that this is a guy who left it out there for his country, but he's just collecting a very big paycheck for his NHL team. But at least he's helping the Pens improve their draft position, so for that I'm thankful.

  12. I dont understand how upset anyone can be that Canada beat a THOROUGHLY dislikeable Team Usa. Especially the arrogant bullish, and dirty Upchuck brothers

  13. And please stop this moronic Mcdavid was bad blathering. If Crosby played like you said Mcdavid did, then scored the overtime goal he'd be getting canonized. This is just sour grapes. Take the loss like a man.
