   Was it really a terrible trade for Carolina? They lost Necas who they controlled for two years for an upgrade with Rantanen for one year. They gave up a second, third and fourth round pick. I don't see a higher profile player being traded before the trade deadline than Rantanen that's just the cost of this high profile of a rental.

   Really I don't see who Tampa is willing to even give up for Rantanen if they wanted him. Id be pretty ok without him. I see Atkinson just going somewhere for future considerations more likely.

   Rantanen is going back to Colorado July 1st. 💯 Nothing adds up. The McKinnon and Berrard comments… It's obvious to me that he's going back.

    I 100% agree that if he doesn't resign within the week then I'd say it's time to deal him to another team as if you lose him for nothing then this'll be a bigger lost than the Jake deal tbh !! I also think that 11.75 for 7 year deal his agent got from the Avs was fair…as it would make him the highest paid winger by 500k and don't think any contending team will give him any more than 12.25 tbh !! Now the bolts would be insane..but i wonder what the canes would want..I'm thinking Mikey,Mitch a first and a third!! Btw..i like all three teams !!

    rantanen situation a tricky 1..hes free agent july first.. and hasnt accepted multi year 100+mill @ 12.5mill per season contract but hasnt rejected it either..hes pretty firm on 14+mill a year aswell. also he wouldnt be cheap for just a rental either which alone turns off many teams. but he doesnt have a no trade clause. some teams like calgary and columbus and ducks have tons cap space to negotiate new 14+ mill deal…but i doubt he wants to play at any..seems like he wants to go to tampa, rangers, devils, vegas, leafs, stars, panthers or oilers. and make cup run, and 14 mill short term

    You forget that Rantanen has proven himself without Mackinnon.
    Nathan has been injured and Rantanen has been carrying the team as a CENTER!
    And, why hasnt there been anyone else with Kinnon that would score these type of numbers? The chemistry between them was undeniable. You have to remember, that everything changed to worse for Mikko, and to better for Martin.
