The Rangers arent a hard team to play against , they dont punish you in the corners , the forcheck is minimal and the back check is soft . We need youth and sandpaper , and mabey a coach that will utilize them right.
Big question for the weekend is the D… what are the injuries from the Islanders game, and how long will they be out? Will the D guys from AHL Hartford get to play? If cellar dwelling Buffalo can hang 8 goals on us – what can a genuine offensive powerhouse like Toronto do?
The wins over the Penguins and Islanders were more about those teams having worse problems than us, NOT about Rangers looking like Cup contenders.

That 4th line was successful because Rempe & Othmann won battles along the boards & were a presence in front of the net. Matthew Robertson will get a tough initiation against TO but it's time he got a chance to play in the bigs.
The Rangers played such an awful game, I am sure Drury sees the last 2 big wins and swings for the fences for grit. With Fox and KAM out we have no business being buyers and should be sellers giving the kids a real shot.
Thrilled to have Key out of the lineup honestly. He is such a major liability in our zone. I still think it would be a great time to bring in Ferraro. He is one of those warrior dmen that every team needs and better than all of our LD. Brod did a good job getting the puck to the net, but Rempe screened perfect for the first goal, & Othmann for the second. I think we should move Kreider + Brod for Crouse + Bjugstad (+ pick or two) and have a real power forward that uses his size and a reliable bottom 6 center. We have been rumored to be in on Bjugstad in the past
