I would suggest a Pettersson for Huberdeau swap…….. but Im not even sure if the Flames would do that right now. Petes contract might become a league famous boat anchor if he doesnt shake out of this rut he has ben in and out of (but mostly in) for over a year now.

This is 100% managements fault. He was playing brutal long leading up to the contract signing and they SOMEHOW had the confidence in this player to give him an enormous deal taking away from the teams cap space. This franchise is doomed from a lifelong obsession with Swedish players and bad management. Given how low the bar is I even might apply to be the Canucks GM at this point and turn this damn ship around.

Rantanen isn't performing at all in Carolina and won't commit to their recent contract offer. When asked about his conditioning the reply was…"let's just say that it's not good". Carolina may revisit the Pettersson trade that was on the table and swap the two. Pettersson apparently has a volatile relationship with the Sedin twins.
EP40 is a couple of months into a longterm contract. 7 more years. Hold your horses and cool your jets.
