Šilovs is fine. Look at his stats at the beginning of the last season – if I remember correctly, they were even worse. He will recover, get into the rythm and be a machine!
Who do you think will win their first Stanley cup, the Sabres or Canucks? Both are 1970 expansion teams . At this point , my money is on the Sabres .

Felt bad for Silovs because nobody really back checked and made sloppy mistakes that should only happen in pre season games. Hoglander deserves to play with Petey. Bains should be healthy scratched. Desharnais should be back in the lineup too.

One can claim that so often during the regular season the Bruins have had, following the arrival of Covid into Canada and the contiguous US, the Leafs number. It’s been more of a mixed bag, with the win-regulation loss-OT loss-shootout loss record of the Leafs, during the season of:
– 2021–22, 3–0–0–0
– 2022–23, 1–2–1–0
– 2023–24, 0–2–1–1
Last weekend the Leafs and Bruins battled it out to force OT, a far different outcome than the Canucks in their most recent game against the Devils. Although it’s tempting to say that there’s only one way for the Canucks to go but up, it’s quite possible that not enough players on that team will take the drubbing the Devils gave them seriously enough and end up instead skidding down the standings.
My brother and nephew went to watch this game. Holy hell what a disappointment.
What do you expect from a team that only plays a period or two per game .

Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto all have the same problem. Each has one player making a superstar salary, which leaves less for top defensemen. McDavid and Mathews are superstars when they aren't injured. The other guy thinks he's a superstar.

Elephant in the room – Petey is overpaid. I don't think his contract is going to doom the Canucks to irrelevance, it's just a couple extra million that they'll have to work around. Additionally, Tocchet's losing my faith a little bit as a coach. Still love you Rick
I was there and of course they play there worst game of the last 2 seasons.
I think Petey is struggling with some psychological. Anxiety and fight or flight (freezing) can totally screw someone up. There’s a way to get out of it. But there’s some pressure leading to anxiety. I know what it feels like when playing sports. You can’t play. Your pre-frontal cortex is offline and the limbic system is in control. He also could have experienced something traumatic that gets triggered and again, fight or flight or freeze. Its hard to understand because it doesn’t “make sense” but it actually does make sense if thats what we are witnessing. And he may not be connected to himself to get whats going on inside either. Sports and being human are tough. Petey is still in there. He needs to see a therapist
Silovs strikes me as that type of person who thrives under pressure and when the stakes are high but struggles when it's the opposite. I know someone IRL like this.

We played worse than the Yankees in the 5th but for the whole game.

The two big signings in Petey and DeBrusk looks pretty bad right now.
I could be analyzing this wrong but the 6th goal is a key example of a Sprong defensive breakdown. He should be covering the left point dman, but he is at the dot covering the center’s (suter) man. This leaves suter in limbo and juulsen is stuck trying to defend two guys on the left side.
The Canuck’s were giving our more odd man rushes than Costco gives out free samples.
