Les prédateurs de Nashville. Mdr.

  1. Penguins aren’t bad they are in their “tank and force the NHL to give us the best player of the next 20 years” phase.

  2. You can also throw in ‘good player doesn’t mean good coach’ Wayne Gretzky greatly comes to mind.

  3. Well, we know the pattern here…
Congrats on your Stanley Cup in the next few years, Predators!

  4. Tree has single handedly got me back into hockey and I will always be thankful for that!! Go ducks! can we ever be good again?

  5. Nashville Predators

    WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?

I came back to this video immediately after they allowed a goalie goal to my Islanders of all teams.

  6. I remember when Holmgren came to Cleveland I heard a lot of murmurs in the area that fans were under the impression the news should have meant he'd have been a head coach with executive powers. Something he had in Seattle, which is what got him to leave Green Bay. Going to Cleveland was his next step towards that end goal but I don't think he realized when you get players, you need to have coaches and players committed to the scheme and that includes educating players of the scheme. When he was HC in Seattle, he could do that.

  7. Peter Principle: in any hierarchy, people rise to the level of their incompetence

This feels like an offshoot sports-centric corollary to the PP.

  8. Nashville tried to buy their way to a championship…. with those contracts and this season…. they better hope this is just a mal ligned season and everyone bounces back next year…. or they just reset themselves for 10 year of being mid to bottom feeders.

  9. The problem is they don’t hire coaches that are full reflections of them. They hire as GM players they would likely do well with as coach. But if they’re not….

  10. Most decisions by a gm in any sport, with all things being equal, need to be judged at the time the decision is made.
If tomorrow the Oilers decided to trade McDavid AND Draisaitl to the Ducks for a second round pick that would be a terrible decision. But if the next day the boys go out for some wobbly pops and don't ever make it back from the bar then ultimately the better outcome for the Oilers was trading them away. Still doesn't mean the Oilers gm did his job well and the Ducks gm was wrong to make the deal.

  11. The biggest thing with the preds is they are Sloooowww. A team that is that slow is not going to go far.

  12. And don’t forget buying out Duchene only to have him go point-per-game for a division rival while the shiny free agents might hit 60 if they’re lucky.

  13. Trotz is the belichick of hockey. Dude coukd take milan lucic and jacob yrouba and have them shutdown mackinnon and mcdavid defensively
