For what it would cost against the cap and what would need to be given up for an end of the season free agent, it would be a pointless trade and possibly worse than the PLD trade. Like i said in a previous post, it would go down as one of the worst trades in NHL history.

This is probably gonna spund horrible to some fans but based on how this trade season is panning out, it might be better that the kings just sit tight this year. They've obviously had problems with consistency this year but when things click they've had great games against the best teams in the league. When you consider what would need to be gave up in contrast with what they might get in return it seems like a bad decision. Keep in mind, no matter how good the player is there's no guarantee they'll fit good in the system or if they eventually do, if that can happen by the time playoffs start. The best bet would be to shop around bottom of the league teams to see if they can pick up a decent 3rd or 4th line winger that can be picked up for a draft pick and reign player(which probably isnt gonna happen)

Even if they did trade Kempe for Rantanen, they still would lack scoring. What sense does that make? By the way, what exactly is the system that kings have where most of the players seem not to fit into? I believe the system and the management here is the issue, not the potential players in the trade.
Not only can this team not score any goals, now they can’t even keep the puck out of their net…we are going nowhere fast, no use giving up draft picks for a player that won’t make that much difference…

Common Blake. Hurry up and make that bad trade because the tension is killing me. The way people act it's like if Byfield is traded than it will be like when Doncic was traded and and Mavs fans went wild. Of coarse Doncic is a perennial MVP candidate while Byfield has a career high of 55 points playing on the top line with K and K. Rantanen wants like 13 or 14 mil and he's 29. I wouldn't do that. Kempe bleeds Kings blood so it would not be wise to trade a guy like that. I'm thinking O'Reilly or Schenn so Kopi plays less and Byfield to the wing. It would be costly acquiring those guys but it's worth a try. Also, a left shot D like Leddy who is back playing now. Don't trade Greentree. Don't do it.

Rob Blake is definitely getting a 3 year extension.. Jim Hiller will get an extension at the end of the season. He got out of the PLD deal, what he gave up was needed to make room for our prospects and Darcy is paying dividends. The Kings also got a break when Detroit signed Todd Mc. The Kings a profitable. Blake is safe if they just make the playoffs. If they force a game 7 or advance to the 2nd round are the cherry on top
