I was today years old when I learned Connor Hellebuyck is American.
Odessa Texas to Winnipeg Manitoba. Bet that was an interesting transition. Man has been a rock for the jets. If he gets a hot streak going in the playoffs, look out! I think he is the kind of goalie who could steal a series, if not more.

he's been our goalie for years now and without him we are just not complete. he got us almost right to the Stanley cup final! we protected him this year and for good reason he is a true jet and has done so much for us

Went to Highschool with the guy. He really is a class act. Always has been. Super happy for him.

I played for the Junior Jackalopes for one season when my local youth hockey organization in San Antonio didn't have enough players to roster a Midget Major team.
Let me tell you, those drives out to West Texas were insanely long (about 10 hours from SA), and some of those stretches of road were absolutely barren. No street lights or anything in the middle of the desert lol.
Those fans in Odessa are crazy for the Jacks though. I'm blessed to have experienced something so unique lol.
Fun fact: They have two sheets of ice in Odessa. The stadium obviously, but they also had a small sheet of ice in the local mall where we would practice lol.
