If Mikko agrees, imagine Colorado v.s Dallas! Duchene and Mikko on the revenge tour v.s his former Avalanche. We know Duchene doesn't care for Colorado. Yet, as of this point…Dallas will only make this deal if Mikko signs long term. Mikko still hasn't made up his mind…as of yet.

Still holding out last gasp hopes that Carolina doesn't deal Rantanen today – I still feel he would be a huge help to their cup run aspirations and that after a playoff run he may bond with enough guys to decide he wants to stay and sign long term even but regardless they could win the cup with him and he walks after and no one will be crushed by that happening if he helps bring them a cup. Go Canes!
To make an educated guess, if Rane ended up in Dallas or Florida, he would sign with them.

Anyone who knows hockey in depth, like I do, understand that Rantanen to Dallas just makes 100% sense and that this is the place he wants to go to.
Any other team would make Mikko unmotivated and less of an impact player. This is the best fit. Also, there is the Finnish connection to Dallas.
It is likely happening unless negotiations fail.
Watching all the canes fans say mikko aint going anywhere is hilarious.
