Imagine not wanting to play against Rantanen vs Toronto only to play against him in the Cup finals. I actually don’t believe Kyper on that one. Carolina has a responsibility to take the best offer and what’s best for the team and not some chance they might play against him for 4-7 gms .
Kyper was not very happy with Treliving' s explanations. He did not sound very convincing.

Everyone will see Nathan M made Rantanen look better than he is as a hockey player. You wont be seeing 90 plus point seasons without Nathan. Rantanen is a big solid winger that will produce 70-80 points the rest of his career and at 12 million that’s not great production but Dallas got him for a pizza so the Stars still grabbed a great asset and gave up nothing except a big contract. I think Colorado is the mastermind hear as Necas will be a better overall player than Rantanen when all is said and done. Carolina needs to fire there GM wow what stupid trades they made.

Leafs have 3 playoffs until Matthews contract is up. I suspect that the Phoenix Coyotes get a team in 2028 after the CBA gets finalized. Matthews might want to head home to end his career. I suspect as well that the Coyotes owner (Ishbia's/Suns owners) will want to be aggressive in recruiting a super team to market the team.

Minten has an awful stat line in the A stankoven is much better than either Cowan or minten.
Stankoven had 56 points in 47 games last season in the A minten has 13 points in 26 games. Minten is a bottom 6 guy at best

How do you give your best assets for Rantanen (without being sure about signing him) then you turn around and give him up for a middle 6 guy and picks, plus you don’t use the 1st rounders to make your team better, that’s moronic! PS the Avs offered him 12.5/8years , and it was going to be signed then Draisaital and Mikkos agent told him you will get 14 or close , and they weren’t going there cause of Makar! This comes from Denver not from agents that bluffed and lost! As of the ram in the Avs throat Dallas aren’t even close to good enough on D , the right side is Dumba, Ceci and Lybuskin,,, I’ll take that in a 7 game series , plus this year they won’t have easy goals against Georgiev! Feel bad for Stankoven though, cause his paltry 10 goals this season, doesn’t really show the big picture? Dude has been robbed by some red hot goaltenders all season long, in which he could easily be at 20? Despite his stature, he’s an incredibly skilled player with a high hockey IQ, and will do well in Carolina.
Dallas will regret rantanen trade if they don't win in 1-2 years. The guy completely disappeared when he got traded to another team and he was nowhere to be found during the 4 nation tournament. Do the stars think they can go deep run with the dcore they currently have? They could have spent ltir money on better defense. 12X8 for rantanen? Yikes
