Most penalties are considered a minor and the punishment is to be down a player for 2 minutes or until a goal is scored. If there is a 5 on 3 situation and a goal is scored the minor penalty with the least amount of time left will be over then making it a 5 on 4 with the longest penalty time still in the penalty box. If there is a major penalty that will be 5 minutes and will be fully served no matter how many goals are scored.
