  1. We take Toews, lol. Thats how bad the bottom of the roster is, and being a center. Oh nvm, this is for next year, hell no.

  2. Let's do it. Why not? One year, lots of cap space. Make it so.

Maybe it will make the last month of the Detroit's season interesting.

  3. LMAO that would be so awesome, I ain't gonna lie. I'm here for a debrincat, kane, and toews line in a winged wheel.

  4. Assuming he has something left in his tank, I would like to see him with the Habs. We need a left handed center that is good at the faceoff circle and play a good 200ft game. Toews would be perfect as a mentor for a couple of years and until the young prospects are ready.

  5. I have a feeling he might end up in a rangers rag after all we are nothing if not THE landing spot for past their prime stars.

  6. I think he would have to pass a test with the Griffins first. I certainly would not remove someone from their spot on the NHL club without having a pretty good idea first. I cannot see Toews being ready to compete in the NHL without the rest of the AHL season under his belt first.

  7. His contract would have to be 1 million or less for the current season and see if he is worth bringing back for next.

  8. This is all upside for Detroit. If it doesn't pan out then he's scratched. Detroit has no reason to not do this

  9. I say bring him in, we're missing rassmussen, copp down the middle he could be a 3 c if it doesn't work then what's the loss…. we're already in a losing streak amd his experience could help the younger guys. DO IT

  10. I'd take the risk for the rest of the season. There wouldn't be much risk, if he can't play he'll get scratched or even put into ltir. As long as it's not a multi season contract

  11. I just read the article, not sure why anyone would draw conclusions that he is going to Detroit.
He just said he plans on making a comeback and his time in Chicago is done.
Sure he's former teammates with Kane and cat, but Kane is a FA this year and I'm not sure we bring him back.
We have young guys kicking the door down, don't need to sign almost 40 year olds.

  12. For a team looking to build a younger team it doesn’t seem like it if we’re just gonna sign old bags, or retired players looking for a return.

  13. This would be fantastic for the 2nd line center with his face off skills. Let all the kids play at this point and see what happens as well.

  14. Hey lego, let's not be so ageist! As a reminder this (age at last game): Gordie Howe (52), Chris Chelios (48), Dominik Hašek (43), Nicklas Lidström (42), Steve Yzerman (41).

  15. You made an unfair statement about Compher and Copp Lego. Both were signed to let the C kids grow while being a competitive team that's as simple as it gets. That was a wise move by Yzerman.

  16. If he is serious about joining the Wings I would have no problem giving him a PTO for next fall. This reminds me of the Peter Forsberg situation. I don't remember how long he was away from the game, but he soon realized that the pace of the game doubled from when he played. I think Toews will realize that too.
