Plain and simple fact is that Rangers are losing to bad teams that simply want to win the game more. Add that to Ranger player casual indifference to losing and you have this disaster of a season.
You can't trade for heart or desire to win.
Last night Rangers lost to a poor Senators team because Brady Tkachuk wanted to win more than the entire Rangers team.
Sure the usual weaknesses of penalties, turnovers, weak D, passing vs shooting etc were all there – – – but fatal flaw was there was no urgent drive to win.
We can't compete with the best teams , we can barely squeak past the worst teams , its time to face facts we all know who the dead weight is this season ends in round 1 at the absolute best.
Rangers need to rebuild. This is the truth. We can’t sit here thinking getting Soucy and Brisson was good. This is just Drury taking what he could get without giving up the dead weight of Lafraniere, Kreider and K’andre Miller. Drury, Laviolette, and the dead weight have to go. We need to rebuild.
Laviolette needs to go. The coaching this season is awful. Leads the league in too many men on the ice. no discipline amongst players, etc. Too many players who don’t want to put in effort. The team needs a retool. No trade is going to help them
i've been super down on Drury all season and i still hold a lot of doubt as to whether or not he really is a good GM. but post deadline they are better off in terms of assets and current lineup. they're probably good enough to make the playoffs, but i don't see this group going beyond the 1st round assuming they are able to hang on.
Keeping K’Miller in the defensive lineup is the biggest mistake the Rangers made at the trade deadline. Miller sucks
Aube-Kubel is a nothing bar as is Brannstrom, so in summary it is a trade that doesn't accomplish much. Vaak has been alright so I think re-upping him is good. Laviolette & Drury's love affair with K'iller will be the death of the Rangers. There he was in OT directing traffic instead of playing hockey & Rangers go down again. That pass back on the PP that Laviolette instituted on the PP is just a waste of valuable time IMO. Move the puck forward not back. Laviolette is grasping at straws out of desperation to keep his job. He has no clue.
Aube-Kubel is garbage. He's not even a top 6 line ahler. Brannstrom isn't necessarily a game changer, but he's definitely a more valuable player than that nobody. He's also a big spot-picker when it comes to fighting. Hate this pickup
There is no such thing as a good 3rd pairing defenceman. If he was good, he would be 2nd or 1st. 3rd pairing is filler and disposable.
We’ve lost the will to win. We need a coaching change. We need a coach who’ll play the kids and vets evenly. Also I like Drury as GM but Unfortunately his decision to play head games with the players has backfired. Who’s being traded? Who’s staying or going to Hartford? Morale stinks! The players have no excuses either. They’re paid to play so just play. In a sense they’re all to blame. Just because we suck im still a fan. Let’s Go Rangers!
