  1. The refs are getting in there suck mode. This looked like bas and Rempe called for interference for doing nothing. When is the NHL going to do something about the referees?

  2. Definitely didnt want Bedard on the ice for the final minites of the game. Therefore effecting the outcome of the game.

  3. F does Bédard suck lol. Complete waste of a draft pick. He’s better suited to play in the women’s league. He might be good there

  4. This is why as a Blackhawks fan I believe the draft lottery was/is rigged for us. The refs have had their hands on every close game against other bottom teams this season as if they're trying to make sure the hawks finish either last or close enough to where they can win the lottery without it looking too suspicious. They have a top 10 PP, yet are bottom of the league in chances and have ahd several games this year without a single PP opportunity despite several blatant "must call" penalties being committed by the opposing team.

  5. Classic case of the nhl’s weakest links being the weakest links. First they blow a call and then double down. Pathetic.

  6. When the refs think they are the show. Time for them zebras to get punished for abuse of power. They're probably just butthurt cause their wives have the whistles at home.

  7. when did the NHL start hiring DEI officials? these guys have been terrible over the past 10 years we do not need more snowflakes on the ice. try calling an honest game and stay out of the way of play

  8. As a ref I would keep the abuse of officials call to physical alterations with refs (e.x. Hitting one when the linesman is inbetween the fights even by accident or bumping into a ref on purpose after a miss call). The refs chirp the players too they understand the lingo and all.

  9. Anyone who watched Bedard play in the WHL knows all about his Golden Boy attitude. If refs didn't call what he wanted he would be slamming his stick onto the glass . I saw it 1st hand .

  10. To those commenting that abuse calls should only apply to physical contact of an official there are two separate types of fouls, verbal abuse and physical abuse. Two completely different animals. The real abuse seen here was the missed tripping call.

  11. I didn’t see a penalty committed against Bedard, but I also didn’t see a penalty committed BY Bedard. Weird reffing.

  12. These referees routinely call penalties on defending players for tapping the puck carrier’s glove with their stick (slashing in NHL 2.0). But then an ACTUAL, OBVIOUS penalty(even in NHL 1.0) is committed…no call. And if you hurt the referee’s feelings by criticizing them for the obvious blown call, the penalty is on you. It makes you wonder what else the referees do to get even with coaches or players who rightly call them out for obvious incompetence. Might explain a lot of strange happenings. Oh well. Just another day in Clown World.

  13. Complete joke. He said one sentence to the ref. I hear a lot of complaining from players when refs miss calls, is it ever a penalty? Rarely, and if so, maybe a 2 minute. If that ref is that soft of a 19 year old telling him his is wrong, then he needs to put some diapers on and go to toddler level reffing.

  14. If he said something that everybody says, every single game, there simply wouldn't be a penalty. People like to say here how "the ref is obviously soft" – But 1) NOBODY here knows what was actually said…

    2) put yourself in the refs shoes… If YOU are ok with taking any and every level of abuse short of being punched in the face, be my guest. I for one have WAY more self respect then that. There's a difference between being "soft" – and setting boundaries. Setting a line. As proven by point 3)

    3) How many times does this ref give out 10 minute misconducts? Every single game? Obviously not… So maybe, Just maybe, this isn't a matter of "refs having egos out of control," or "being soft" – but maybe its a matter of 19 year old CB crossing a line? When he's having an awful season, and losing in this game, and feels like a call was missed? (Right or wrong on that feeling is irrelevant. You can talk to the ref and tell them you disagree, without crossing the line…)

  15. The NHL "should" suspend the officials, but they won't. First, they missed a blatant penalty. OK, that happens. But then you have to be thick-skinned enough to hear about it when you miss a call like that. Bedard didn't show them up. He wasn't demonstrative or anything on the ice. The crowd in the stands and even watching on TV had no idea he even had a beef with them. NHL fans pay to watch the players, not the officials. Unless a player just absolutely blows up and embarrasses an official, there is absolutely no reason for the officials to overreact like that. Also, bad job by the Blackhawks head coach. When your young, star player gets that kind of treatment from the officials … that's when you need to escalate matters and start throwing sticks, water coolers, whatever you can pick up, etc. onto the ice. If the officials want to make it about them … well, make it a spectacle.

  16. They should only be allowed to call abuse of an official if a player actually punches a ref. I don't give a fukk what you got called, grow up.

  17. I'm no Bedard simp, but that's some BS!
Orange stripe on each arm and a big yellow one down his back. Weak ass ref.
