@Maple Leafs de Toronto

  1. THE LEAF FAN BASE IS THE DUMBEST IN ALL OF SPORT WHILE PRETENDING THEY ARE SMART. THATS WHY WE GET THESE DUMB ASS TAKES. LOVE THE LEAFS HATE THE FANS

  2. In the postseason too many of AM34, Marner, William Nylander, John Tavares & Morgan Rielly have disappeared. How many more chances should that core receive before it is shrunk down? No 2025 conference final appearance hopefully will mean the Leafs let Marner and Tavares walk.

  3. If management didn't agree to resign him next season, then why would he agree to wave his no move.

  4. Only thing that makes my stomach turn more than another Laff propaganda crap dictated by Laffs management is the sound of Onraits voice!!!

  5. This team after Columbus series should have been broken up period! NMC kills teams. No team has 5 ppl eating up 60mil practically. Shanny is at fault he spoiled them. Not a marner fan or hate thr guy. Lets see playoff then if so let him go. Current GM not the greatest. Also leaf media are horrible they stir the pot then come to say no you fans are wrong. Been doing this since late 90s

  6. Probably the biggest issue is when you have clueless people like Hayes come in… with nothing other than an opinion, which holds no more value than the deuce I just dropped….this is why the Marner thing will get worse…. Because of meatballs like these two twats get paid to spew nonsense and stir the pot.
Neither of them have any credibility to talk about Marner like they have knowledge of anything other than what all of us have heard

  7. Mitch Marner born n raised in Toronto

    Grew up a Leafs fan

He begged us to draft him

Sat out refused to play for the Leafs for MONEY

Doesnt do anything in the playoffs that makes a difference

Now he's playing hardball again with his hometown team

LET THE BABY GO never thought a Toronto born would act like this

  8. I don't think he's near as "divisive" to fans as the media likes to let on. The vast majority of fans, who can't be bothered to chime in on this stuff, appreciate that he's a great player and would love him to stay if it can be afforded. If the team can't afford him, he moves on, another player fills the spot and the sun comes up the next day… whoop-tee-doo. This is all media driven, it gets clicks and views which makes money. Marner will understand that this is how it works, nothing personal.

  9. Because Leafs fans are MORONS. Same fans who cheered Mats Sundin when he refused to be traded because he "wanted to be a Toronto Maple Leaf" and then cheered for Mats Sundin when he signed with Vancouver and came and scored the shootout winner against Toronto.

Same idiot fans who said you can't win with Phil Kessel.
Same idiot fans who said you can't win with Luke Schenn.
Same idiot fans who said you can't win with Nazem Kadri.

    Leaf fans are absolute MORONS.

  10. It all goes back to his contract and his contract negotiation. Is Marner that naive that he thinks he can demand 11 million and no repercussions would come if he didn't perform in the playoffs.

  11. LOL ! "…Marner so divisive among Maple Leafs fans ?" No division among Leaf fans that I know. If you want to see Marner go, you probably aren't a Leaf fan….

  12. Seems to me marner wants some control in the direction of the franchise and is leveraging his contract to see himself and management agree to a long term plan. And maybe if they cant agree with a path forward he does walk

  13. The Leafs can’t win a championship with Marner….he disappears during the playoffs and has zero toughness to compete when the game is on the line .

  14. No he's polarizing for two simple reasons:

    1. He wants MAX money, and this will also get your MAX scrutiny and MAX expectations. If you want some breathing room, take a small hometown discount. Leaf fans count the cap, and we know the cap, and we don't appreciate greed.

    2. Playoff Performance. Marner needs to show up in the big games. He's had a major case of the Yips gripping his stick too tight and disappearing when teams start to play him with physicality. Regular season is meaningless these days in Toronto.

  15. It's all about what he has been paid compared to what he has accomplished compared to others in his perceived peer group . It isn't complicated . He was paid too much in his initial contract and has been lauded as a superstar which he may be in skill level but not in Ole time hockey Eddie shore 😉

  16. Mitchy is a smaller type skatey, passy, shooty guy and some people think all hockey players should be punchy, hitty guys. I said before last season when he got married that he would have a not so good year. Young dudes need time to process that sort of change in their living environment. Then during the playoffs there was that viral Biz vid of Mitchy getting mauled which wasn't really fair to him because both teams were at times trying to murder each other and that's not his game.

  17. He’s a Toronto native and grew up a leaf’s fan. I doubt after playing for them he’s still a fan. I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes a pay cut to play for a real contender after being asked to waive his no trade. Once he’s out or Toronto I bet he actually shows up in the playoffs

  18. Mitch go to a team that's gonna appreciate your skill an talent. Get out of the cancer situation in Toronto , I promise it will be better . Let the team believe that 34 is gonna take em to the promise land . You play a 200 foot game , where 34's whole game is 15 feet in front of the net . If you go , it will be a huge mistake for the Leafs but they have made a ton .

  19. Gosh the TORONTO IS THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE BS just flows out of these commentators like diarrhea. They have this attitude that everyone and everything wants to play in Toronto and be a Leaf, it is rather nauseating. He will go to free agency and one of two things will happen 1) he leaves, and the Leafs get nothing 2) he stays, and the Leafs pay much much more than they want to.

  20. Marner is staying. He, his wife, and their entire families are all local to southern Ontario. All of this is just posturing to get the most money. He likely stays at 13.5*8. He absolutely will push for more than Matthews 13.25 and Tre and Shanny will give it to him.

  21. The issue isn’t just Marner it’s that the team has too many high-paid players. To stay competitive, one of them has to go, and Marner is the most likely candidate. The team has consistently underperformed in the playoffs, and that’s what his supporters fail to acknowledge. Significant changes are necessary for improvement.

  22. Why is he so divisive?
    1. Money seems to matter more than winning.
    2. Disappears in big playoff games.
    3. Awful attitude when talking to press.
    4. Leaf's fans see teams with less big stars and more toughness win rounds.
    5. Never shows accountability.
    6. Looks like a crybaby kid.

  23. It’s simple. He doesn’t play with the type of tenacity, sacrifice and will imposing energy that playoff hockey requires. And on top of it, wanting to squeeze every last nickel out of the cap. He’s an incredibly skilled, super soft, perimeter playmaker who might have playoff success as an accessory player, but not as a main guy like he wants to get paid for. Playoff hockey is just a different game. It’s about sacrifice, tenacity, testosterone, battling for every inch, dogged determination, taking and giving out punishment, etc. Your top players especially must have those qualities.
