  1. 49 goals, 13 ahead of the pack & 100 points, with a game in hand. No Makar feeding him & dealing with a blender of wingers. Easily the MVP this season. 💤

    Haters are gonna hate!

Hilarious how juveniles single this crap out when superstars get continually hacked, hooked, held, interfered, etc..

    Not my 1st rodeo…

Back to mommy’s basement, your PlayStation & fantasy pool…

  2. I think that’s a simple interference penalty! The Islanders player clearly pushes his legs into the back of the Oilers player’s legs. Draisaitl did NOT have the puck: interference in today’s game.

  3. Personally ild rather them just get rid of the emblishment penalty. I dont want judgement calls from refs decidng games. Ild rather uts just be the interference call, but on draisaitl since hes the one that initiates the contact with the guy away from the puck

  4. Absolutely no call needed on that play. It's not interference when a guy skates into you, and it's not embellishment unless the guy who falls makes an acting job of it or whines. Draisaitl just got up and kept skating. Really no reason for refs to get involved in this nothing play.

  5. The whistle blew, so they couldn't NOT call a penalty.
And awarding Edmonton a power play is very likely spotting them a goal.
So they decided to call two penalties, like the incompetent jokes they are.

  6. we have the benefit of instant replay and slow motion where the ref don't during penalties. Ref made the call based on the info they saw and have. But under further review Draisaitl instigated the collision on NY. There should not been a double call but Draisaitl for Interference/Embellishment.

  7. Embellishment should be called more often. It should also be called on its own so that there is an actual negative to embellish something.

  8. This reminds me of when NBA players jump and take a shot and purposely land or lean into the defender. The thing is NBA refs make that call everytime. Drives me mad and I like basketball sometimes

  9. I think this is neither interference nor embellishment. Would be find without any penalty. Maybe one ref had a nervous arm so the other decided to equalize this😂

  10. refs in the nhl are embarrassing protest by turning to the nba
and the idiot mouthpieces are told to back the refs up they are pr weasels dont listen to them
thanks gary butthead for ruining the game ive always loved you have made it unwatchable

  11. Yeah, "interference" when he leans in with his elbow first. I like Draisaitl a lot, but this was clearly all him.

  12. The reason there were two penalties, is the first call made was the interference. The announcers make a comment how one ref tried signaling that it shouldn't be a penalty. The ref calling interference already put his arm up and blew the play dead. Then the officials came together and discussed and the result was both the interference which was already mistakenly made a call and embellishment by a ref who actually saw what happened. Also embellishment should be called on its own sometimes, possibly here if not just a no call. Sometimes it does make sense to call two penalties though as embellishment isn't the exact same as diving/flopping. One is trying to draw a penalty regardless of the severity of the opposing players contact and one is faking the offense entirely. In soccer terms, embellishment is actions such as rolling around in fake pain while diving is pretending you were fouled when you actually were never tripped or knocked over but instead threw yourself to the ground. Honestly what really gets me is that more high sticking embellishments should get called in my opinion

  13. lmao draisaital initited the contact that created the "interference" what a joke

they need to start punishing embellishment much worse

  14. TRUE – only one penalty here – drai – 2 for interference. Of course the officials get 10 minutes for sucking!

  15. I honestly don’t think anything should have been called.. COULD it be embellishment? Sure. COULD it be interference on either player? Sure.

It honestly looked like a race, jockeying for position that just ended up in lost balance. Should have just let them keep playing. The double call was stupid.

  16. They need to give these out more. I say that for all of hockey. Too often people grab the stick and fall holding it or a goalie goes flying and the replay shows someone didn't even tap them

  17. thats 100% pen on draisaitl, engvall didnt do anything, draisaitl skated right into him and fell down.

  18. zero embellishment note interference. what a nonsense call. he just lost his footing and got right up

  19. so one ref called on player, the other ref called the other, and they compromised?
