Holy shet. I fell asleep this afternoon and had a nightmare that the boys finally figured out how to play defense but there was only 15 games left to sneak into a wild card.
In addition to the stars of the game Larkin, Kasper and Kane were great and Rasmussen and Edvinsson had good games too. Kane even won 2 faceoffs and blocked some shots. Pretty much great effort all around. I wouldn't have gave Raymond the 3rd star. Im still waiting for more. He looks like hes not back to form yet since 4 nations. Larkin is back.

Literally as I was watching the game and thinking Petr would get a shutout; I was thinking about, "What is Brian going to title this video?" You did not disappoint, Brian.
The fact that all it took was three games for him to get a shutout is sad
With Ottawa playing so well and starting to separate from the pack, it’s now starting to look like Detroit and about five other teams will be competing for the one, last playoff spot.
Elmer actually made some very bad plays against Carolina that got him demoted and Raz was buzzin so he got swapped with him.

Their schedule is brutal. No chance this team makes the PO's.
Too little, too late / A day late and a dollar short, regardless….. Wings had their chance to control their destiny for at least a wild card slot, if not a 3rd place finish before they went on that 6 game skid, but they have since threw in the towel. To be in the playoffs, you gotta have more than Kane and DeBrincat showing up to win games for the Wings. I think they sealed their fate. It's too late. Other clubs will likely keep up or do better than the Wings under pressure. Too many personalities not taking responsibility on this roster. Plus you need an enforcer to get you to win, especially in the playoffs, and the Wings don't have that. Not only that, they are too streaky and unreliable a squad who give the appearance of a 50/50 chance to win when their on the ice. And Coach McClellan was right to throw this roster under the bus during that 6 game skid. Wings roster can't blame anybody but themselves, not even the coaching staff this time, though Stevie Y ought to be on probation or canned if Wings don't enter the playoffs this season.

The goalie interference call against Rasmussen was insane. He gets ridden into the goal tender like a rented mule (as Jerry Lawler would say), hits the back of his head off the goal post, and then gets backhanded in the face by Samsonov. At least they called the roughing by the goalie, but the interference was ridiculous.
debrincat deserves a letter
Elmer did not look good on Friday. He looked lazy and sloppy, and if we had a better top line wing we might have won that game.
