Man we been screaming trade these guys since last June, at this point I hope Columbus ottowa or Detroit takes our spot at least a playoff appearance will mean something to those franchises, even if we make it it's still an embarrassment.
This team is toast, they have gone from a good franchise to worthless. Remember i said Utah and Seattle will win the cup before they do. The announcers were right when they said Kreider should be at the crease to deflect because whatever they are doing is not working .
Problem is that few teams will want to give up their stars for our problem children.
GM has made solid midseason trades – but the off season shabby treatment of Trouba and Goodrow, and the morale busting public memos have to have damaged morale.
The gap between what K Miller could be and what he is – huge. That's in large part on coaching – watch the guy get traded and only THEN turn into a monster on D.
They’re in panic mode
Rangers don't need a superstar, they need players who play the 200 ft game & coaches who know how to utilize them. I cut Kreider some slack because I think he has been playing injured most of the year. Two guys who definitely need to go are K'iller & Jones. They were both liabilities in the D-zone, as was evident last night. Fortescue will be a good addition to the D, but he'll need a season or two with the Pack. K'iller & Jones would both make better forwards than D & Rangers need to improve there. There are some good pieces in the rookie crop with Perreault a possibility next year & Othmann & Berard having increased roles. I'd like to see Edstrom moved up in the lineup as well. This will be an important free agency period, but Rangers need to be judicious & not hand out ridiculous contracts.
Simple answer? No .To get a pheom, you're going to have to give. And I don't think Drury is not too keen on giving up Gabe or Brandon. Kris is a 3rd line guy right now. That's not the worst choice. 🏒🍻☘️
I like Kreider and Mika too. But are they player profiles that we need in order to move in the right direction. That means identifying players who are young, good value and potential upside. Here's what I don't understand on this take though: Keep Mika and Kreider who are not what they used to be and not likely to ever regain their former selves, but trade K'Andre Miller because he's inconsistent? Key's concerns can be fixed with good coaching, which he clearly isn't getting from Phil Housley. Key has tremendous upside and could easily turn it around if the team doesn't give up on him. But if I were Key, I'd be concerned because the Rangers don't develop prospects. They have a sink or swim mentality and they sink way more than others. Neither Mika nor Kreider figure into the future of the team, so trade them out for whatever you can get back. Keep a kid like Key because if he gets the right attention he can easily be a Top 4 D-Man. But we should be making room for kids like Sykora and Perrault to join Othmann and Berard. Right there you have 4 hungry young players who play with an edge and aren't afraid to stick their nose in. Trading Laf, Schneider, Key, all of these seem like self injurious moves given where the team is and where they need to be.
Does any Rangers fan think Drury is the man for this team going forward ?
What has he done in 5 yrs at the helm to put this team over the top ?
A bunch of Rentals, traded for 5 first Round piks ?
